Ted McGinley

So we can't blame the suckiness that is Pearl Harbor on him...?

No, since that was Michael Bay's thing, and he didn't act in it.

I think Jefferson was funnier and a better fit with kinky Marcy and hijinks with Al. However, the show was more experimental, dirty, or even nasty in its style and tone in the earlier seasons. It was nice to see Steve as the foil of some of the dirt or the reluctant participant to the crude schemes. Early on when Fox was new they really pushed the envelope. By the end there were just too many changes and gimmicks and attempts at mainstream appeal. Understandable for some events-the pregnancy storylines for example or absences of Katy Segal-but some things like Seven and the lack of a true ending are just unforgiveable.

It surprises me that this is on TV Land now. It's not that old. What was the one that tried to spoof it, Unhappily Ever After? Ted McKinley just has good fortune and bad. Great shows, steady work, but a bit of a jinx, too. Although Happy Days and The Love Boat had their day by time he came along. I think MWC did the right think by having him make fun of his own image.

ETA-Didn't Christina Applegate just have a preventive double mastectomy after her mom's cancer bouts a few years ago?

^ No one of any real importance. He was sort of the "Ted Danson in Saving Private Ryan" equivalent.

Good to see that he's getting work. Maybe he can pull off a George Clooney late career resurrection, and be cast in big films as the lead.

. . . The funniest ep of them all was the two parter where Al and the guys were trying to install the satellite dish on his roof and the wives were taking bets on who would fall on his ass where. Pee-yourself funny!
Of course we all have our favorites. I think one of the funniest stories was the back-to-back episodes in which Al built himself his own private bathroom, only to see Peg turn it into a feminine pink horror -- complete with bra rack and tampon carousel -- as a project for her interior decorating class. But this time, Al refuses to be P-whipped. How does he regain his personal sanctuary? Well, it involves a big bag of cheap Mexican takeout food and a quart bottle of tabasco sauce . . .

I mean, this is world-class toilet humor!

Alternate universe - Ted McG replaces Ted D in Cheers when the latter leaves in 1993 and the show runs for another few years ... How might that have panned out?!

Accompanied by "Bad to the Bone", the Al Bundy badassness theme song! :guffaw:

Ah yes, I remember it well!
