T'Bonz

I made it into A Time to Kill because David liked my screen name. We had a thread running at the time he was writing where a bunch of us were facetiously begging for cameos. I got to be the same race as Kamala (!), and I got to be on a strike team with Christine Vale, as well as with a character named Fillion (I'm a HUGE Firefly fan). Best of all, I didn't die, so who knows, maybe someday I'll show up again.

I was amused to note where Will and Deanna were to be married on Betazed - Amick Hall, which had been built on the site where Byram Hall had been, which was destroyed in the war, and which was where Ian and Lwaxana's wedding had taken place. Amick Byram is the actor who played Ian Troi in "Dark Page." (Incidentally he was also the singing voice of Moses in The Prince of Egypt.)

Well, the Christine Chapel was all booked out. That had been their, um, Number One choice.

I have a mention in a TOS-era book under my real name. Not Kirk's ship, alas, but in the right era! :D My dream name-drop would have been on Kirk's ship. DS9 would have been my second choice, since I love that series almost as much as the original series.

It's fun when reading various books to recognize some of the names from here and elsewhere. The authors are really great to do this for people. I can't speak for anyone else, but it sure made my day to be in a Trek book. Closest I'll come to being "in" Trek, since I have neither the looks nor the acting talent to be in a guest spot on a series, and of course, nothing is being made in that regard anyhow.

I missed all of them!:brickwall: What books were they in?

T'Bonz appears in the A Time to books first. Dil Moore appears in Full Circle, he's the guy who helps B'Elanna build her ship. D'Mack is an off-hand reference to a Vulcan artist who's work is being exhibited at the Louvre in Full Circle.

Therin Park is hit by the Borg in Destiny.

Thanks. I probably read it at the time and got the in-jokes -- but I forgot...

:wah: Nobody used me in a book.... Can I pout a little? :guffaw: I seem to remember a "Lurene Anderson" in one of LA Graf's books, but that wasn't me. My name shows up in "M*A*S*H"...

when all the nonsense about tuckerisations was going on, i didn't ask to be named in a book, i just asked for a ship named after my home city. Dayton did it in Vanguard: Open Secrets - U.S.S. Gloucester.

it's only appropriate though, since the Royal Navy has named 11 ships HMS Gloucester over the years.

If I was in a book I'd be the guy grumbling about having to fix or replicate and assemble replacements for all the shuttles the senior officers tend to severely damage or destroy with my wife in the nursery and the kids finding mischief.

How about the opposite? Has anyone here name a kid after a trek-scifi-comic character?

My son is named Ethan after Ethan McManus from the Ctrl+Alt+Del web comic and my daughter is named Linnis after Linnis Paris in the voyager episode "Before and After".

Considering I took my username from Datas brain, i suppose the word is in quite a few books, but Id love to see a name drop of my real self in some book.

My best friend named her little girl Kira after Major Kira.

I really want to name twin girls Menolly and Emony, except I'm not sure I could be that cruel. It's one of those nifty ideas in theory that would torment the poor children forever. ;) I might do it for pets instead one day. :techman:

Guess I picked the right screen name.

No kids yet, but when that happens, I'm pretty sure it'll be a girl (in my family, it's always the girl who's the first born), I'm still trying to decide between Kira and Sarah Jane...

As I remember it, you got the answer to him first, but I actually had the accurate count of shuttles (finding that accurate answer had slowed me down a bit in answering and boy I was pissed that I wasn't first to post. :D) But he was nice and gave both of us the name drop.

P.S. Never named a kid after a Trek character, but my cockatiel is named Dax.
