Taylor Swift

Garm Bel Iblis

Commodore
So she's here in town tonight at a sold out show. My company has a private suite at the Wells Fargo Arena that I won tickets to. I don't really follow her music and wouldn't be going if it weren't for the beer and buffett we have in the suite.

Any one been to her shows before? Am i gonna wanna hang myself?

She's coming to town here on Saturday, and it's going to get rowdy! I'm not going, but I'm working at a bar next door to where she's performing, so it's gonna be a crazy night for me. Her show sold out in 8 minutes.

Anyway, I dig her music. It's nothing remarkable, but I think it's fun and catchy. You'll probably have a good time.

She's ugly, has a horrible voice, and sings country. 3 strikes for me right there.

Kanye was onto something there...

She's great, and a brilliant popular songwriter who deserves every award she's gotten (sorry, Kanye) - so she'll be around for a long, long time.

She's kind of odd in performance, though - she tends to "act out" what she's singing. Happy hands.

she's 18 right? she can have happy hands allll dayy long..

The times I've seen her sing live, I have been less than impressed. Her produced stuff is all right, I guess. Annoyingly catchy, actually. But watching her perform (at least on TV) is not an experience I'd go out of my way to repeat.

Aaaah Squinty, if you can deal with a grown woman still not being over high school pettiness at the age of 20, sure, enjoy yourself.

And Dennis, seriously, brilliant songwriter? Her simplistic verse and little girl themes might endear her to tweens and emotionally stunted housewives but anyone with a mature taste in music will see right through her childish lyrics.

Well, she obviously wasn't paying attention in school anyway. Romeo and Juliet ends with both of them dead never having had the luck of even doing each other first. Yup, that's a great love story.

So, if you can stand listening to teeny-bopper pop songs that prevent the youngsters out there from knowing anything remotely close to what classic literature is about, then you should be fine.

Besides, you could just take an ipod with you. :techman:

Don't forget, she also misunderstood the meaning of a "scarlet letter."

My handle is "Hawthorne" for a reason. I didn't forget, but the raging fury that hits me when I think about it blinds me to doing anything but finding something to hit her with repeatedly until she stops singing.
