Talk Show Schedule - Starting Tonight!

So, anyone watch Bana on Leno tonight? I thought he was fairly entertaining. Didn't talk about the movie all that much, but I found the story of the Moscow interviews amusing.

And yes, they showed the Robau/Nero clip. I'd never seen it before. All I have to say is... ouch (not because it looked poor, but because of what happens in it).

They figure they can get several million impressions more by going through him to their target audience, 16-35, than by going through Leno or Letterman.

Smart people.

Apparently they are hitting up the people who don't have cable with the Tavis Smiley appearance next Friday.

I wonder if they'll show the /Robau clip for ...

Did you notice how they are going full bore on Jimmy Kimmel?

I think it's more to do with Jimmy's low ratings that they can blitz his schedule without conflict.

yeah. Kimmel's producers are like, "bring it on. we're booked for the next two weeks. huzzah!"

Or maybe Kimmel was just more interested in booking them? I have to believe that these actors would accept any interview offers from Leno or Letterman. Leno and Letterman probably just weren't as interested in devoting that many nights to Star Trek.

If they put all these spots, (and ones prior) onto the DVDs sets it could potentially be the most special feature packed disk ever!

I don't think it's normal practice to put all the talk show interviews on a DVD. In fact, there are probably legal issues that prevent it. Leno, Letterman, Kimmel, etc. don't want their interviews of actors to go on the DVDs of those actors' movies, unless they get some compensation out of it.

Well thank God...because I don't consider these interviews "extras" by any means... 20 years from now yeah maybe but in the present....no thanks.

Would that make these interviews canon? :shifty:

I can see it now: a future fanboy claiming it is "established canon" that Scotty attended 23rd-century 'Alcoholics Anonymous' meetings, because of something Simon Pegg may say in an interview on the Jimmy Kimmel show. ;)

The guest schedule for next week's episodes of 'The Daily Show' and 'The Colbert Report' is not available yet, so I don't know if any cast members will be on at all. My guess is they will have at least one.

I enjoyed the Eric Bana interview on Leno last night. Bana was pretty funny and I loved his mention of the interview questions from Russia.

The clip of the movie was new to me. Interesting seeing Nero in his element.

Eric Bana was entertaining and seems to really enjoy his part in the film.

RAMA
Yeah. The audience reaction seemed lukewarm at best though. Like they were just being polite.
I had to laugh when he referred to Robau as captain of the Enterprise though.
Me too. Although Robau would have been a hell of a commanding officer for an Enterprise. :techman:

Hmmm...
Star Trek: Kelvin anyone? ;)

I think it's more that Jimmy Kimmel is a big Trek fan and probably wanted to help promote the movie.

He even went to the Grand Slam convention a few years ago and showed a segment on the show. Here's the article from startrek.com

the crowd seemed to like the film segment. it is kind of a spoiler, but i think people care about it only because Robau has become such a phenomenon. if Robau were just some random captain, I think it wouldn't be such a big deal.
