I imagine the script (or at least the outline) convinced her to sign on as well. Her prior issue was that they played bait-and-switch with her where the directors were concerned. She signed on to the Dark World because she wanted to work with Patty Jenkins. All they had to do to lure her back was offer a chance to work with another director that you wanted to work with, in this case, Taika Waititi.
I have to admit, I was pretty shocked to see her come back. I can't remember if she ever said it outright, but I got the impression that she was done with the MCU after The Dark World.
Didn't she? She did rely on Asgardian science to diagnose the problem after she absorbed the Aether (And she may have been unresponsive during the decision to have the Aether removed from her by trick the Dark Elf dude, I can't recall), but the majority of her actions in the film are her own doing, not forced upon her. She investigates portals, uses one to visit an unknown realm, she interacts with alien constructs, she uses science to thwart the Elves during the climax of the film, and she even uses said science skill to vanquish the main bad guy. (Who is then killed by Dr. Selvig.)Yeah, she really didn't have much of her own agency in The Dark World, did she?
All I remember is Christopher Eccleston monologuing in a made-up language and proving that apparently many dimensions must have a North.I have no memory of Dark World, though I know I watched it.

I guess she did do more than I thought. It's been a while since I've watched it.Didn't she? His chameleon circuit was broken.I've heard a criticisms about past actors in heavy prosthetics. You pay all this money to get them and then you stick on 10 pounds of makeup (Idris Elba in Star Trek Beyond)
They should have had a scene where the Dark Elf takes human form to blend in/scope things out before they reveal their true form.
In fairness though, it does feel like she spends the middle section of the film sleepily letting others make decisions for her thanks to the Aether.I guess she did do more than I thought. It's been a while since I've watched it.
Please, please, please, please, please, pleasssssssssseeeee! While this is not confirmation that he is in the movie, Jeff Goldblum was seen in Australia attending a rugby match with Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman.

Maybe it was just his birthday.
I would've thought that would be crazy casting until I read that it's probably just another cameo.Russell Crowe joins the cast.

Won't lie. I would probably jam to that for a whole hour, especially if it featured a video of Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster dancing.
