Taika Waititi to write and direct Thor 4

Happy to hear about the Guardians in Love and Thunder, Waitit's take on Thor really is a good fit for them.

I really want to see more from Thor and the Guardians. Sorry is this is shameless self promotion, but I though Thor fans might enjoy this video I made during lockdown in the style of the team Thor videos made to promote Ragnarok. Just a bit of fun to fill time while stuck at home.

I saw a story the other day that New Zealand and Australia are going to allow movies and TV shows to start filming again soon, so it's likely they should be getting ready to get back to work on this.

I'm expecting that to really take off with the pandemic, it's a great way to convincingly create locations, without ever leaving the studio.

Natalie confirmed that Jane's story will mirror the Jane as Thor comic arc

https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/natalie-portman-plot-points-thor-love-and-thunder

“I can’t tell you that much,” said Portman, who is currently in Australia getting ready to film Marvel's fourth Thor movie. “I’m really excited. I’m starting to train, to get muscles. If there can be all these female superheroes, the more of them they are, the better it is. I’m trying to think — it’s based on the graphic novel of the Mighty Thor. She’s going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side.”

So my cancer theory could be true. That she broke up with Thor because she found out and didn’t want to hurt his feelings

I was hoping that the film would ditch the cancer angle and give Jane a different story, but I'm still excited for her return.

Christian Bale is playing Gorr the God Butcher. I haven't read any comics with him, but from what I've seen online I believe he was one of the big bads for Jason Aaron's run.

Yes, the first and best of the Jason Aaron's villains. That first stretch of Thor: God of Thunder is still Aaron's best work on the character (though not his best work on the Thor book, which would be the Jane Foster stuff also being adapted here).

I'm really curious how they'll play Gorr here. I hope Bale gets more to do than Christopher Eccleston did on The Dark World. What a waste of a brilliant actor that was.

I'm still not sure that was because they realized he was phoning it in and thus gave him less to do, or because he realized he didn't have a lot and decided to phone it in.

Jaimie Alexander set to return as Sif. Looks like she was wise to ignore the call when Ragnarok was being filmed. ;)

I don't think Sif was going to be killed if she'd been in Ragnarok. Apparently she was supposed to have been in Valkyrie's role at first and when Alexander couldn't make it back they rewrote the part.

Rewrote it EXTENSIVELY, so I don't think Sif would've been a surly drunk.

New set photos. Thor is back to being slim. I'm getting serious 80's rockband tribute vibes at the end of the movie.
