Taika Waititi to write and direct Thor 4

There is potential for depressing. If they include
Jane’s cancer. And though there’s no Odin around, I suppose they could kill and revive her by deploying another character. Not sure if they would include her cancer though.

I haven't forgotten. And I hope Portman gets the opportunity to sink her teeth into that story. But it would still be several orders of magnitude less depressing than the unrelenting avalanche of pain that was the core of Ragnarok's story.

It's not about there not being any darkness. It's just about the level and style of humor not being so out of sync with the level of darkness that it feels like the darkness is being papered over and never dealt with. Ragnarok failed in that respect, imo. But Jojo Rabbit succeeded, so Waititi has the capability.

While we wait (and wait) for a trailer have some toys.

I wonder if they'll still call Gorr's weapon a necrosword, since the rights would belong to Sony as it's actually a symbiote?

So does that mean The Mighty Thor is going to be the official name for the Natalie Portman version? At least for the real world stuff like the figures, that will need to have a clear way to tell the two different versions apart.

Why? Miles Morales is Spider-Man. So is Peter B. Parker. So is Peter Parker who is noir.

Or to use an MCU example, Sam Wilson is Captain America.

No reason why Jane can't be just Thor, too.

Yeah, I guess that's true.
You're not wrong though. All four of those examples above have had toys with their specific names on the packaging, making sure there is no confusion. Just like you said.

They do, don't they. Like I said before, I was talking just about in the real world, so for things like actions figures, and LEGO sets. I'm pretty sure in universe she'll probably just be Thor.

I feel like this would be a great time to have a GIF or Meme of the Vicar of Dibley shouting "THESE ARE SUCH A GIVEAWAY".

I like that we get to see more teenage Groot. I loved what little we got in Avengers Infinity War.

Seeing as how they rapidly aged up Groot between Vol 2 and Infinity War I was thinking we'd be at Adult Groot by now.

I'm sure the plan was always for adult Groot to be in Volume III. But the plan originally was not for there to be quite so many Guardians appearances in between Volumes II and III.

IW and Endgame were originally going to be one film, the holiday special certainly wasn't in the cards before D+ existed and I highly doubt James Gunn originally planned for them to show up in a Thor movie before ending their trilogy. Since, you know, their trilogy ender was originally supposed to have been released last year.

I wonder if Taiki resents that the Guardians play a role in this story or not? Like, would he have preferred it start off with Thor on Earth alone?

I can't see why he would. The Guardians are the kind of zany characters that fit his storytelling style.

Hell, for all we know, the set-up at the end of Endgame may have been his idea.

By Vol. 3 maybe, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get more Teenage Groot in at least Love & Thunder, and possibly in The Holiday Special too.
