Taika Waititi to write and direct Thor 4

Forgive me if I missed this, but what happened to the Mjölnir Thor brought back from the past in Endgame? Did it get returned (I'd assume it would have to be returned)?

There are set photos showing that there's a memorial to Odin at the spot he was killed with the Mjolnir pieces as part of it.

And it looks like Jane steals them from it.

And starts to fly... badly.

I hadn't seen any of that before. I'm assuming when she's floating and writhing around, that must be her transformation into Thor.

So we're now three months out from the release date and we've yet to have an official photograph from the film, let alone a trailer. For comparison the Dr Strange trailer came four and a half months before the release date.

Hell, Morbius released it's trailer twenty-six months before the film was out. ;)

I am wondering if they are waiting for Dr. Strange to come out, so we will have more momentum For the movie. When did it start filming? Where are they with F X at this stage?

I am not too worried

I hope this is good. I wasn’t a fan of Ragnarok as I found it too silly. I hope this is more serious. Gorr needs to be taken seriously

I thought Branagh’s Thor was fine, if nothing special, the Dark World was dull but I absolutely loved Ragnarok. More than happy if this one is in the same vein (but if TW decides to do something new, I’m sure it’ll be great too).

Ragnarok was darkly funny. It used comedy as a vehicle to show how much shit was happening. I'd like a more tonally grounded, with comedic elements

I didn't like Ragnarok because of the genocide of Asgard while Thor was joking around. And It was a shame lady Sif wasn't in the movie

Ragnarok was my favourite MCU film, Waititi was the best thing to happen to the franchise as far as I'm concerned (I have yet to see anything of his that I don't adore, starting with the Conchords which I didn't even realize he was a part of!)

Bring on more of what he does best.

I liked Ragnarok well enough if only because it was a massive improvement over the previous 2 films. And it had a *killer* soundtrack and gorgeous cinematography.

But yeah, the humor/drama balance was massively off-kilter and it does make me worry a little that Love and Thunder will have the same problem.

Bright-side, though, Thor's already lost his entire family and most of his friends and half his kingdom twice over and given up his kingship anyway, so the new film can't possibly be as dramatically heavy as Ragnarok was. Hopefully that means Waititi's humor won't feel nearly as unnatural since this story can't be as depressing to start with.
