Taco art

Not to bump (i can't find an edit button) but someone over on another thread has used Davinci Resolve/Fusion for animation. Looks like theres a limited free version available. Dunno if that helps or not.
The free version of DaVinci Resolve does have some limitations - but you can still do an unbelievable amount of stuff with it.
Recommend giving it a go.

Appreciate the heads up. But I did the "Free" 30 day trial of Adobe Animate. There's nasty small print. It's Free for 30 days if you don't cancel BEFORE 14 days. I canceled after 20 days and they charged me $145 penalty.

Kinda avoiding free trials now. Don't wanna touch them.

I wasn't able to do art for a week. But working on it now. Almost have a 5k version of the big E panning before the big planet. Had to redo the stars by hand for 5k. AI made a mess of it.

a long time ago... I rendered this.

Back then booleans always gave a rats nest of garbage. Looked like spiderwebs. I built the secondary by creating a vertice, move it in xy, then z, connect to a nearby vertices to make an edge, then a face. Did that for the scoop and hanger deck areas.

There were no reliable plans. Everything was wrong. Used alot of vhs frame caps. Alot of 360x400 photos.

But after several pc and hard drive crashes and recoveries, here she is!

Yeah, Adobe has been running quite the racket. It's too bad there's so little competition.

Ok, I'd say these are the key shots. I'd be thrilled with high-res versions of any of them. (Time stamps and frames based on the Youtube video you uploaded):
00:24.54 (589)
00:27.38 (657)
00:53.33 (1,280)
00:58.88 (1,413)

I finally got the first done. I'm sorry about the long wait. IRL and just plain low energy to do art. I haven't done any art for a few weeks. But here the first is.

that should be good for a month.

Had to redo some things. Stars looked horrible resized by AI. And the atmosphere of the planet had to be redone.

The others might have some problems. When I export an Enterprise drawing, the windows defaults to a perfect rectangle instead of a rectangle I've shaped to the hull. Not sure why... Another weird kink.

Here is the desktop 5k version of the final shot of the animation

Having problems with the other files. The adobe illustrator file is giving "incorrect number of operands for operator" error and won't open.... Going to have to search for another copy.

Damn thing DID open at one time.... sigh.

Way back when, a friend of mine was into making fan film stuff for the Farragut group. He asked me to make a Federation stargate prototype device.

It was a fun project to do. I enjoyed designing this. Happy how it came out. Design, and render and illustration all by me. Cylinders are power units. And that blue wormhole pans up for a pretty cool animation effect. Sadly that part wasn't used.

btw I have NO IDEA how big this is. I don't know what the scale was that the Farragut guys went with. lol

The stargate looks cool, though I am kinda tickled that in my mind it's running on giant AA batteries.

Out of the loop on these things, what is Farrugut? A TAS style fan-film?

I'm impressed with how well you caught the TAS style for a stargate! I would've made the 1-4 numbers much smaller to make the gate seem larger, but it works remarkably well!
