T.J. Hooker?!?

Yeah, I realize that it's William Shatner and all, but this is more for TVM, not GTD

Officer- Your father was Captain of the precinct for 12 minutes. He saved 50 lives including your mother's and yours. I dare you to do better."

Vince Romano- I will not all you to lecture me!

Hooker- Then why don't you stop me.

If the Shat doesn't get a cameo in this, there will be some wailing and gnashing of teeth. All his, of course. Perhaps old Hooker will have to travel back in time and advise his younger self. Though it would be really funny if Nimoy got offered a cameo and Shatner didn't ...

Seriously, though, apart from the Cult of Shatner, this series had little going for it. It didn't have the iconic car or theme music of Starsky & Hutch, the cool of Miami Vice. It was very much a generic cop show and not a very good one at that. I really can't understand reviving it. And even the apparent plot of this movie - Hooker's relationship with his father - has nothing to do with the original show. In the pilot, he was investigating his partner's murder, then the show was about the relationship between the veteran Hooker and his younger proteges, played by Adrian Zmed and Heather Locklear.

While I agree that the show wasn't great, I disagree that it's theme music was worse than Starsky and Hutch, and Miami Vice. Of all the cops shows back then, Hooker had the best theme. Too bad they never released an album.

The movie had better have a scene in which Adrian Zmed shows "Reboot" Adrian Zmed a video of Shatner singing "Happy Birthday" to him.

It will have Shatner starring as an older T.J Hooker coming back for one last adventure with the new cops.

Near the end Hooker will climb a fire escape to disarm a bomb on the top floor. The fire escape will give way.

Hooker- It was..........fun!.......oh my.

Its not enough that this was a punchline in the first Charlie's Angels? They are actually goin' to do it?

I'd rather see them edit a couple of episodes together as a sort of telemovie, and air that on the big screen. A movie version of the old show (recast, of course) sounds like a pretty terrible idea to me.
