"FIRE EVERYONE!" -Chief of Police
About Shatner's involvement in this remake:He is rumored to be playing TJ's father.
And I wasn't kidding about Chris Pine, either. I really do think he would make a great TJ.

That would be funny if Pine spent his entire career mimicking Shatner's.
Next up- Chris Pine: The Transformed Man
Chris Pine... Jessica Biel... LL Cool J... and Alan Rickman
Rescue 911
Directed by Michael Bay
I hope they cast Chris Pine as T.J. Hooker.![]()
Someone needs to photoshop Chris Pine on TJ Hooker. Preferably with lens flare...
And hence you point out another bit of The Shat's greatness. For some reason, I thought I would take a look at TJ Hooker. I'm watching the episode, Shatner's having a drink at a bar, and he "acts" drinking the same way he does in Star Trek IV when he has the beer with Gillian Taylor. THE MAN OVERACTS WHILE DRINKING.
I think it should be titled "Hooker!"
If the Shat doesn't get a cameo in this, there will be some wailing and gnashing of teeth. All his, of course. Perhaps old Hooker will have to travel back in time and advise his younger self. Though it would be really funny if Nimoy got offered a cameo and Shatner didn't ...
Seriously, though, apart from the Cult of Shatner, this series had little going for it. It didn't have the iconic car or theme music of Starsky & Hutch, the cool of Miami Vice. It was very much a generic cop show and not a very good one at that. I really can't understand reviving it. And even the apparent plot of this movie - Hooker's relationship with his father - has nothing to do with the original show. In the pilot, he was investigating his partner's murder, then the show was about the relationship between the veteran Hooker and his younger proteges, played by Adrian Zmed and Heather Locklear.
