T.J. Hooker?!?

About Shatner's involvement in this remake:
He is rumored to be playing TJ's father.

And I wasn't kidding about Chris Pine, either. I really do think he would make a great TJ.

Why can't Shatner just play TJ Hooker? You can bring back Heather Locklear and the star can be TJ Jr.

That would be funny if Pine spent his entire career mimicking Shatner's.

Next up- Chris Pine: The Transformed Man

Chris Pine... Jessica Biel... LL Cool J... and Alan Rickman

Rescue 911

I'd like to see the Priceline commercials that Pine would do. Or, better yet...Denny Crane: TNG

I would certainly watch that...If I were 12 years old and could watch it for free on ABC at 9 P.M on Saturday. Pretty much how I experienced the original.

I hope they cast Chris Pine as T.J. Hooker. :D

:techman:

Someone needs to photoshop Chris Pine on TJ Hooker. Preferably with lens flare...

Done, just with no lens flare

For some reason, I thought I would take a look at TJ Hooker. I'm watching the episode, Shatner's having a drink at a bar, and he "acts" drinking the same way he does in Star Trek IV when he has the beer with Gillian Taylor. THE MAN OVERACTS WHILE DRINKING.
And hence you point out another bit of The Shat's greatness. :p

If the Shat doesn't get a cameo in this, there will be some wailing and gnashing of teeth. All his, of course. Perhaps old Hooker will have to travel back in time and advise his younger self. Though it would be really funny if Nimoy got offered a cameo and Shatner didn't ...

Seriously, though, apart from the Cult of Shatner, this series had little going for it. It didn't have the iconic car or theme music of Starsky & Hutch, the cool of Miami Vice. It was very much a generic cop show and not a very good one at that. I really can't understand reviving it. And even the apparent plot of this movie - Hooker's relationship with his father - has nothing to do with the original show. In the pilot, he was investigating his partner's murder, then the show was about the relationship between the veteran Hooker and his younger proteges, played by Adrian Zmed and Heather Locklear.

It's going to be a satire on the order of the Starsky & Hutch and Charlie's Angels movies, not the actual show. Sheesh.
