Sylar as spock, did you buy it?

Quinto was Spock.

Pine was Kirk.

Both not immitating, but bringing out the essence of the characters and adding something new to the mix.

I'm having trouble deciding whose performance was better. They were both fantastic.

I used to watch Heroes, and actually bought the first and second series on dvd. Sylar is my favourite character. I still think Quinto owned Spock. He's a great actor.

I thought that Quinto was fantastic as Spock. I loved him as Sylar but he was even better in Star Trek.

I was completely sold on him. The only one who I think did a better job was Erica Bana as Bones

Fortunately i don't like or watch Heroes so for me Mr Quinto was absolutely brilliant. He has accepted the baton from Mr Nimoy and is running with it wonderfully and with great style. I thought the whole cast were simply marvellous.

I was afraid I was only going to see Sylar. His performance was wonderful. I totally bought it and now he is Spock.

When he had Kirk by the throat, I did have a fun thought and wondered if he would raise his finger at Kirk's forehead.

Of all the actors, I had only seen

Jon Cho in Harold and Kumar
Simon Pegg from many things here in the UK
Leonard Nimoy from well duh...

The rest were all new to me, which was nice!

You know, someone in the cinema who was stood infront of me when the beautiful music was playing in the background and said "All I saw was Sylar". Honestly, I wanted to beat the shit in to him. I saw one tiny bit of Sylar, and that was when he hugged his mother near the start and looked up, he had an evil look of Sylar it felt. But other than that, it was Spock, and nothing else.

I've seen Zach Quinto in Heroes as Sylar and love him there. But, Zach is even better as Spock.

While watching Star Trek, I never once mixed up the two characters that he's played.

Bought it.

I've only watched the first few episodes of "Heroes", but it was enough to see Quinto in a very different role than Spock. The fact that the two are played by the same actor but are completely different entities in my mind is a testament to his acting ability. I totally bought him as Spock - specifically a young Spock who has tons of character development ahead of him. Having Spock Prime there really did the trick of showing the contrast between the two. nuSpock clearly wasn't totally comfortable in his skin yet and was still learning to control his emotions while Spock Prime was almost whistful when he spoke to his younger self. That scene was awesome and provided the final "piece" I needed to see Quinto as Spock. He did a fantastic job IMO.

Yes, but only after the first two lines.
His opening line sounded a bit "Syler-esque"
Likewise, Urban's McCoy had me at "Ex-wife took the whole planet in the divorce, all I got left is my bones!"
...they never did explain where that nickname comes from, but it fits.

Loved McCoy's introduction!

It was awesome.
