Survivor: Samoa

I was only half-watching through the hours, but last night really left me shaking my head at Dave. For a guy that Probst claims has the highest IQ of any contestant in 19 seasons, he does a lot of really dumb things.

The other highlight was Shambo's "Don't make me throw up on your face", definitely in the running for Quote of the Season.

from Laura post game interviews. She made a coment how Dave reminded her of Kramer character from Seinfeld. So i want to see more of Dave in next episode if this is remotely correct.I love Kramer.

And the next person voted off Survivor is....

John

Russell just put another target on his back. Shambo is not going to be happy, and Foa Foa isn't happy to be on the other side of Shambo's wrath. Though, I suppose John was going to go on the attack without a Foa Foa going home, so next week probably would be a difficult one for him either way.

Interesting episode overall, I always like the auction episode and I think that Jaison made a good move in spending all of his money on the aide for the IC.

God, Shambo is an idiot.

He has certainly been increasing his game-play lately. I guess being on the winning side has upped his morale. Jaison is the type of player who just can't handle long down-periods, but he has a chance now that things are turning his way.

God, Shambo is an idiot.

She's completely looney tunes. Somehow, it manages to keep her in the game.

Her getting all bitchy about the stupid chicken was just:  It's a damn chicken Shambo! And in case you weren't aware of it (and all evidence suggests maybe you are) you're trapped in a jungle/island with sparse rations. That chicken is FOOD!

I actually feel for Shambo, especially as someone who connects more closely to animals than humans. She has probably felt very lonely, as many on Survivor probably do as you're surrounded by competitors, but she probably felt even worse since her tribe has been totally assholish to her. So I can definitely see how she created an emotional bond with those chickens...and it's not like she actually tried to stop them from cooking them as people on the show have done in the past...in fact, she was the one who cooked them, she just couldn't watch them die. So I don't see anything wrong with the way she reacted to the whole situation, in fact I probably would have been more of a crying baby about it, but at least she was still able to cook and eat them.

I think it was a calculated risk, that was probably worth it to get rid of John instead of Dave. Of course if ex-Galu weren't total idiots it would have been a lot riskier.

Yes, Shambo will be pissed off, but what is she going to do next week? Vote with Dave and Monica? Not bloody likely if you ask me (I think Jaison was dead wrong on this, although I appreciate him finally waking up and thinking about strategy). Imo she will be even more determined to go after Dave.

The danger is if the three other Foa Foa turn on Russell. They could pull over any of the remaining players as a fourth (Shambo, Dave, or Monica), and at least one of the others would switch-over in a tie-break situation.

The concern in pissing off Shambo isn't so much in her voting powers (though, a vote's a vote). It's in Russell blatantly back-stabbing her. It makes him look less loyal (putting his alliance with Foa Foa at risk). Unfortunately, Russell put himself in a position where voting the other way would have created a similar situation with John, so I'm not saying that he left himself any good choices.

The Foa Foas don't have the numbers yet to vote out Russell, with or without Shambo (and why should Shambo align with any of the Foa Foas anyway except Russell?). And I doubt the Foa Foas have any illusions about Russell's loyalty anyway, but he's in a such a strong position that I can't see how they can do anything about it. They won't sacrifice their numerical advantage, and when push comes to shove, Russell still has the idol.

Deceiving Shambo might cost Russell her vote, but I would be shocked if he doesn't make it to the finals. He looks almost invulnerable to me.

Foa Foa should work with purple to vote out shambo next because she is too much of a wild card. After that, they will have the numbers game on the remaining purple players.

The smart move next is to go after shambo.

She sounded like a looney nut to me when she said that she could "talk" to the chickens. Considering chickens have no language and a brain the size of a pea, they're not talking to anyone, and then she did get weepy and cry and all angsty when the chickens were killed.

There's a difference between "connecting with a pet" and "connecting with an animal given to you to use for food and intened to be used for food."

Agreed. And maybe that's why EvilRussell was willing to leave her in the dark at the last tribal council (that and that he was probably afraid she'd wig out if they told her the plan had changed). Shambo's pretty much outlived her usefulness to the Foa Foa Four.

Russell survives another two eliminations. Dave and Monica go to the jury.

Somehow, Russell is still in the game despite everybody being aware of his millions. Perhaps that information makes them less concerned about him being in the final two...

Interesting tid bit: We find out in the clip show episode that Russell told Mitch about his being rich. Now, we have indications that he also told Natalie and Jaison. Meaning, he trusted all of Foa Foa with this information (what's left of them, anyway), and we're only now finding out about it. Bad editing, guys...

The next person(s) voted off Survivor: Samoa...

Dave and Monica (:()

Russell plays the game as over-confident and smoothly as he ever has and gaurntees himself to survive through next week (the final week he can use the Idol.)

No Luxury/Reward competitions tonight just a double-eviction episode (with two ICs and two TCs.)

And we loose Monica. :( I may cry now.

Jaison is pretending to be the mastermind behind Russell. That's...interesting...I guess...It also puts a target on his back. :cardie:

No surprise in losing Dave, but I thought they might cut Shambo loose before axing Monica. Loved Monica's attempts to scramble though, and she was hilarious during Tribal. She went out in style, which I always admire.

Nice to see Brett finally get some screen time (especially when wet and shirtless and jumping). He needs to pretty much win every immunity from here on out I think, unless the Brett-Natalie-Mick (Bratalick?) alliance hinted at in the preview for next week somehow works out.

Lovely gratuitous shot of Natalie hanging her underwear

I laughed when Erik walked into the first tribal wearing one of Brett's shirt designs.

I also enjoyed Russell's ballsiness in just pulling out the immunity necklace and putting it on for the second tribal, leaving everyone to wonder whether he'd play it or not. Craaaazy dude. I can easily see him winning a final jury vote based on respect for how hard he played the game, but I can see him losing based on not needing the money.

Shambo's vote read: "Monica: Happy 26th". Umm, kind of classless.

I think that's his jury argument. When Jaison had that conversation with Brett and Monica he knew both of them will be on the jury (there's no way Brett survives even one tribal council unless he wins immunity) so he tried to give them a reason to vote for him when the time comes. Unfortunately for him I'm pretty sure everybody knows it was Russell all the way who called the shots.
