Survivor 20:Hero's vs Villians, live comentary

Yeah, I probably would have given Russell the million last season, but that's primarily because he was the only person who played the game (rather than letting the game play them). This season is composed of a few players who are both great at strategy and the social game.

The best examples: Sandra and Parvati are better players, imo. I can't see giving Russell the million this season (not if Sandra or Parvati are options at the end).

Parvati would be fine as a winner. Sandra most certainly would not.

I'd rank Parvati first and Sandra second. Obviously, those rankings are tentative, though, as I haven't seen the back-and-forth with the jury yet.

If anyone but Sandra wins, I'll be happy. Unfortunately I'm afraid she has the best chance based on the incredibly favourable edit she's been getting the entire season, which would make me very disappointed. Sandra again did nothing to deserve the million, just like in her first season her only plus was that she was no threat - big deal.

Well you beat me to the punch, I was just getting ready to respond to RS with that very comment. LAST season, Rusell did seem to be the best player, but I don't know if it's the stress of doing two of these back to back, or if it's just that he's up against a better class of players, or what, but he really hasn't been THAT great this season. Certainly not up to the level he was last season.

I really think the stress, both physical and mental took it's toll on Russell. the fact that he is even still in it at this point speaks highly to his ability. He started off strong this season but has gotten less focused as the game continued. That is a sign of simple fatigue

I'm definitely on Team Parvati for tonight, or alternately, Team Sandra. They both deserve it more than anyone else. I would also be okay with Russell winning, to make up for last season, but I don't see him having a shot, no matter who he's up against.

If Colby comes anywhere near winning I'll be disgusted. Pretty much indifferent on Jerri. I can see her coming second, but can't see her winning. Looking forward to the reunion show almost more than anything.

I disagree. Without Russell. Parvati would have been long gone. However Sandra is still in the game despite her biggest allies are gone Boston Rob and Courtney. Both are playing a good game not great. I would rank Sandra first and Parvati second.

The only reason Sandra is still there is because she's doing almost nothing and because she's so incompetent she's no threat to anyone. How many times has she said "Russell's gone" now? And he's still there. She has no power and never did during the entire game. If "outlast" is the only thing that counts she's no better than Jerri.
On the other hand Parvati has been threatened almost every single tribal council, she was target #1 almost every time since the start of the show and she's still there, that's good Survivor!

I will say though that excluding Russell (because he has no chance anyway) Sandra is probably the second most deserving player left - of course she did more than Jerri or Colby, but that's not saying much.

I thought Russell deserved to win last year just because his presence was the only reason why that tribe got to the upper-hand. When they merged the other tribe had the numbers, but Russell kept finding HII's, he got Shambo onto their side, he got the other tribe to vote off one of their own (who I can't remember right now name-wise for the first vote I think), he got John to go along with him to avoid a tie on that one vote, etc...
If you are referring to Eric boot then you are wrong. Natalie played a lot bigger part in that then Russell. If i remember correctly Russell wasted a idol because he thought he was in danger.

That's what the editors wanted to make us think. Who knows what really happened... But from all the interviews etc I think Galu basically just freaked out and voted out Erik because they thought he was a wild card - without the Foa Foas having much influence (neither Russell nor Natalie).
Admittedly that was the one vote in Samoa where Russell wasn't in complete control, but I also don't think Natalie was. It probably was more or less a collective fuck-up of the ex-Galu tribe.

And you're making the same mistake of believing what the editors want you to believe again this time with Sandra.

Well, Parvati has been untruthful to him about important aspects of the game and he showed in Samoa that he's fairly honest to his allies, but yeah, he's not really one who should talk about stuff like that.

In a way, I'm kind of glad Colby didn't win that challenge. If he makes it to the final three he'd win, and he just hasn't earned it this year.
