Surely something good happened to you today

Got done shoveling the snow off of the driveway.
Here, have a cold one.

...too soon?

I got plans.

I’m going to snooze for a bit, possibly day dream about Dr Who episodes that I think should be made. Then I’ll do a bit of housework. Iron a shirt, run a bath, glass of red, maybe two. Meet friend at the Indian, have a good chin wag over a lamb Methi with chips, move on to that ancient underground pub we like, knock back a few jars and put the world to rights. Hurrah!

I have to finish editing a terribly written academic paper on linguistics (oh, the irony). I also have to teach an evening class later (English A1). However, my dad is coming to visit today, which is awesome. I bought him a bar of vegan chocolate and am just looking forward to sharing it and having a nice glass of merlot.

I have a Roddenberry UFP badge (from Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home) being delivered today (it was supposed to be yesterday, but at least it'll get here).

Late Tuesday evening someone posted on a Star Trek costuming group on FB that there was a vintage 80s UFP badge on eBay for less than what I paid for the newer version. The thing about the vintage version is that, first, it's the proper colors (black and silver...the newer version is blue and silver) and second, those were leftover production-made badges for TVH that were never used and sold at quite the discount back then by Majel Barrett.

I sat on it and sat on it, not wanting to ask anyone for money and I was hoping it might still be available tomorrow. Biting my tongue and biting my tongue, I finally asked a friend if they could lend me the money until tomorrow.

I was able to purchase that badge on eBay. Woohoo!

I didn’t get my night out, but I did get a takeaway, and fresh clean pyjamas, still warm and toasty, straight from from the dryer.

I remember once it was the hottest day of Summer last year. I put my pajamas in the freezer!!! It was a delight to put them on! However, it only lasted a few minutes after which I had to undress, it was hot as hell that day!!!

I booked P&O Ferries for my yearly holiday in Bexhill. We always drive through France, cross over at Calais, stay a night in Minster, and then head to Bexhill - same procedure every year.

I've been living in Germany for ten years now!

awesome! I can't swim at all (though I work in the water all the time LOL)

My cheesemonger in the market mentioned that she'd like to try out scones but doesn't have a recipe. I brought her one for plain scones and one for fruit scones plus a sample of both sorts today and got a lovely creamy goat's cheese with fig jam as a gift =) Yummy stuff (and excellent on fresh scones  )

While waiting for our table at a restaurant to be ready, we went a few doors down to Half Price Books. Hubby's best friend bought a board game and I found a DVD of season 4 of "Shetland!". Woo! It was more than 9 dollars cheaper than on my Amazon list , so I bought it. Very, very pleased.
