Surely something good happened to you today

Unlike one week ago today, the snow is NOT piled up in my driveway past my knees.

 

Not sure what it was before, but last night and this morning I discovered that an external DVD burner that I have is not as loud now as it was last time I tried it.

Until I need to use a Blu-Ray burner, this one will do nicely.

Oh, and I finally mounted my addressable LED array onto my power supply.

 

I found an old hair dryer while excavating in a Jurassic layer in the attic and IT IS STILL WORKING. that thing must be nearly fifty years old! That's quality for you!

 

Went to a gigantic quilt show, which was great in itself, but for some reason there was an exhibit of saddles (for horses) right in the middle of all the quilt exhibits. There was one saddle with a dragon's head pommel and wings that was really great. But strange for a quilt show.

 

Unassembled and reassembled my PC and, well, I'm posting on TrekBBS!

So, in other words, everything went together fine and works properly!

Woohoo!

 

I got to stay in my pajamas all day, play video games, and watch TV. Not a bad Sunday.

 

Ran out of milk this morning and thought I’d have to go without my second coffee, but luckily, out on the doorstep was a fresh bottle, left there this morning by our new milkman. Completely forgotten I’d arranged that.

 

You still have milk delivery? I thought that was a thing of the past.

 

^that's pretty awesome =) I get my milk from the cheesemonger's stall in the market - fortunately only 100 yards from my house

 

I do now. First time since I lived with my parents twenty odd years ago.

 

I MENDED SOMETHING!

Well, I successfully set up my first RAID array. Three drives to one. Triple the read/write speed.

 

I was forced in to doing something I wasn’t ready to do, but at least it’s done now.

 

I hate those occasions. It's awesome when you make it though.

 

I was able to remove a hard drive cage from one of my old cases and mount it to my current, wall-mounted case.

It's not pretty and I need to modify the acrylic face for my case to allow the cage to pass through and to help support it (currently have a sisal twine "safety" cable), but it saved me from needing to purchase another solution.

 

I got good news about a friend who's moved a long distance from here.

 

I had to stay up till midnight, and it’s an early start tomorrow to finish off, but I completed one costume, one prop, and all but three buttons and a sleeve on the last costume for world book day.

Can’t wait to see their faces.

 

Came home to tacos this evening. Def gonna keep him another 30 years.

 

It’s world book day here in Blighty and the school lets everyone dress up as their favourite character. I just dropped off a little time lord at the school gate and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him happier.
