Surely something good happened to you today

Pretty unproductive for me, really, but I guess I had time for some needed introspection. And I was again reminded why I absolutely love the manga series Berserk.

I watched the first two parts of Childhoods End. I read the book over twenty years ago and remember almost none of it.

Signed up for local milk delivery from nearby dairy.

I’ve had home made bread everyday this week and now I’m buying milk from cows I can see from the window. Take that, faceless global corporations!

That's what I do exactly! I buy my milk from a small dairy farm close by. I no longer can stand the milk from anywhere else!! The other day I was drinking coffee at someone's house and when they proposed some milk, I preferred to drink my coffee black, which I do rarely these days because even the smell of that milk made me slightly queasy. (I didn't say anything to the hosts though as you could imagine). I can't believe how picky I've become!

That's one aspect I love about the town I live in: there's a farmers market 6 days a week. Fresh veggies and fruit all year round =)
With the milk I have to admit I fuel global warming: most of the time I get it from a dairy in Austria. I get a belly ache from every sort of milk except this one. Perhaps they use a different race of cows or different feed. Propably both.
In summer I often go to a local milk station (like a gas station, just for milk =) ). Summer milk tastes better because then the cows only eat grass. In winter they get fed fermented stuff which transfers its nasty aroma to the milk. If I knew a farmer who feeds hay in winter, I'd buy there. Hay milk tastes almost as good as grass milk :)
