Surely something good happened to you today

Another mouse in my house, however, I've deployed the ten trap defense protocol (placed in strategic points) and got it in a couple of hours!! Even a cat wouldn't be that fast!

What town is that in?

There’s a bric a brack shop in my town that sells all kinds of wonderful nonsense. I bought a few of my Alan Parsons Project vinyls there.

It maybe time to pay it another visit. It’s been a very long time.

Edinburgh, Scotland.

Originally, I was looking for retro video games and found another shop in the opposite direction. It was easier to walk there from the city centre. The timing had to be right because I wanted to have a good rummage.

'Wonderful nonsense.' I like that. Looking at the online reviews and pictures, it could easily describe this place. The inside has a lot of character. Apparently it's popular with students and tourists.

These kind of places are like a window into the past. It's good to rediscover long lost memories.

Ah. My friend's brother has a similar store in Alabama. Was just curious.

My good for the day: I contacted a developer to request a possible new feature for one of his plugins. It turns out that what I was requesting was already possible in the script's default state! Woohoo!

The problem is that there's not a whole lot of documentation on the script so I didn't think about the way you'd go about achieving what I was requesting in the existing plug.

We currently have a mouse problem. There are a few weak points in our exterior defenses that need to be rectified. The mice live in the basement but get up to our kitchen through gas/water pipe holes in the floor under our sink and oven. I need to get those pipe hole sealing thingies. They're hinged metal clasps that surround the pip and cover the larger opening. Cheap enough, but we haven't don it yet.

alternatively, you could fill the gaps with acrylic sealant. It works like silicone but has the advantage that you can pull it out rather easily, once you don't need it anymore. If you attempt to catch the mice, I recommend chocolate as a bait. No mouse can withstand it.

I had lunch at a Korean restaurant. I spoke a bit of Korean which seemed to take the boss (and probably the young waitress) by surprise. I don't think they expected it.

The boss was super friendly and helpful. He asked how long I'd been speaking Korean. Over the last year or so, I've been learning at my own pace. He asked if I liked the pop group BTS. I said that I liked them but had another favourite. Overall, the experience, and the food, was really nice.

I worried once that when I picked food up for a delivery from a Mexican restaurant that when I said, "Gracias," to the owner that she might take it as a slight, but I've come to realize later that most people take it as a sign of respect.

She replied, "De nada," and smiled.

Know how it feels to be worried talking to a native speaker. (As a non native.) I kinda joked that I didn't want to murder their language. The owner seemed happy to interact. Although, immersion is the best way to learn.

Woohoo for bosses being away and remembering trash! (I have a horrible time with that last one...day just kinda merge for me)

I found some new motivation to help me reset everything about my workflow in Max and also came up with a solution to a problem that's been plaguing me ever since I started using macros on my Corsair programmable keyboard.

Truth be told, the solution has been there all along, but I hadn't thought about it the way I did tonight. It has to do with converting sub-object types and switching keyboard profiles.

Also, I have discovered the usefulness of the Esc key in my macro recordings. Those damned transform type-in fields! They're another nuisance that's been bothering me when I don't think about what I'm doing.

Finally, that developer has assisted me once again and solved a problem I was having with his previous solution. I hope I'm not bugging him too much.

no chemicals of any kind!!!

Sorry...

Well, to be fair, I do get what you're saying...no supposedly harmful chemicals.

But the air we breathe is a chemical. Water is a chemical. Your desk is made from chemicals. Chickens are made from chemicals. YOU are made from chemicals.

The implication was artificial chemicals.
