Surely something good happened to you today

You don't happen to have time to fix my sewing machine, I presume? ;) It got stuck yesterday - the sewing head is completely blocked, as if it was welded into place. I suspect a problem with either the upright arm shaft or the bed shafts which means I have to dismantle the whole thing.
Good thing: it got stuck literally at the last 3 feet of a quilt - I can easily finish it by hand.

Even if I did the disassembly and assembly for free, 'twould be a rather expensive repair bill, what with the airline tickets, 'n' all. ;)

I hope you are able to get it figured out. :)

Finally came up with a plan on how I'll model something. One part was kind of eluding me.

Bonus: in staring at reference images, I noticed another detail in the reference, itself, that had also been eluding me.

Good, good, good.

YAY! My sewing machine is fixed. It took me 1 hour to get the *4#^&ß casing open and 1 min to fix the jammed arm shaft.
The only prob is that after the reassembly 1 screw is left and I can't for the world remember where it belonged. It doesn't fix any vital parts, so I decided to count it as a nuissance and not as a problem. :D

There’s always a bit left over when you do diy.

Earlier this week I received a call from out of the blue from an old neighbor of mine who our families have been friends since we went to kindergarten. I hadn't seen him since my father's funeral four years ago. He asked me if I still collected comics and if I was interested in selling them. I said that I stopped collecting about 10 years ago, but I had them in storage all bagged and boxed. He explained that he had a friend who was willing to buy them from me for one lump sum, them he would turn around and sell them on the internet and at comic-cons. I said that we could meet today at my storage locker to look them over. So we met this afternoon and he offered me a nice four figure amount for the entire collection and a small amount off of whatever he makes when he sells them. While I'm sorry to see them go, to be perfectly honest, I hadn't thought about them or been to the storage locker in months and they were just taking up space every time I moved; so they're off to a good home and I made a nice tidy sum of money.
