Surely something good happened to you today

2 things. First - I got a letter in the mail from my cousin and he put in several family photos. Second - My daughter's insurance finally agreed to pay for my granddaughter's puberty blocker medication. This was the 3rd appeal and they got Duke Hospital involved and that made the difference. My granddaughter is only 9 yrs old and she was a preemie and is small. If she went into puberty now, she would stop growing and never be tall enough to drive, among other things. She is near puberty....zits are appearing already.

Took a couple of boxes of books and DVDs to Half Price for trade-in/credit.
I wasn't expecting to buy anything, but, browsing through the CDs, I came across The Bryds "There Is A Season" box set - four CDs and one DVD of live performances and it was only $45.
Thanks to the credit I got for turning in the books/DVDs, I paid half that.
Coupled with the previous Byrds box set and The Complete Albums Collection, my Byrds collection is complete.

My joycons are heading to United Radio to be repaired/replaced. They're supposed to arrive there by noon tomorrow.

They lasted 4 to 5 years since needing to be originally repaired/replaced. Not too bad. The original job was done well.

I got a call from my doctor's nurse today and told me how my blood work came out. My Kidneys are good (used to have black spots on them). Also, my liver and that my sugar went 9.6 to 6.6 but 6.5 would have been just right. Close enough. That with losing weight just makes me so happy being a Diabetic. The only thing is my thyroid is out of whack. But that was not enough to kill my mood.

I went to our local museum to hear a talk about their archaeological dig in Pompeii. The young PhD candidate speaker talked a mile a minute and was finished in half an hour. Also, I wish I had a dollar for every time she said, "you know".

Well, the nature of today is that its my birthday - I've officially hit 44 years old. I know that older folks still consider my generation "clueless young whippersnappers", but I look at those younger than me nowadays and often wonder, "What on Earth is going through their heads? They seem to always be staring down at their phones, and ignoring everything else. Its no wonder some of them walk off cliffs or get hit in traffic."
