Surely something good happened to you today

Happy birthday. Mine was Friday (17th). At 50, I feel like an old man, but at the age you posted, I'm sure you see me as a snot-nosed punk kid, yes?

Oh, the good thing that happened to me was that I turned 50 with minimal damage.
Happy birthday.

Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoy many more years in Randyland!

Found out I'm getting the money back for the baseball games I was supposed to go to in Toronto.

(Hoping I can get my New York games refunded as well. But those haven't been postponed...yet.)

I got my hat racks. They're good for wide-brim hats. Goes over the door. Could clear out my closet and let the hats shape properly. So there's that.

For weeks now, my seat on our sofa, which is supposed to recline, kept getting stuck at the halfway point---just enough so that it was hard to get into, hard to sit upright, but still not reclining enough to bring your feet up. Since we eat dinner in front of the TV, it was really annoying.

This morning, hubby decided he was going to fix it himself. (me internally: oh no...). We flipped the entire sofa over (it's a 3-seater, and the end seats are recliners = fucking heavy) and we got to vacuum under it (cat hair city) and actually IN it, since the bottom is hollow. We balanced it on two of our dining chairs, which are really tall and hubby went to work on the mechanism inside the recliners. He found the problem, swapped some parts around (a mal-formed/worn down pin was screwing up the gears) and fixed it! Hooray!

Now I can recline and watch a show, or sit upright and read or eat, or whatever. Victory for the couch potato!

Hubby was very pleased with himself. He said, "This lockdown isn't so bad. I'm getting a lot done!"

Next on our list: change the kit in the upstairs toilet and mulch the yard.

Things are starting to reopen, so I ate out for breakfast this morning (at First Watch, one of my favorite restaurants).

I was the only customer, which felt very weird.

Belated happy birthday to all my fellow aries' (or is it ariesses??)!

Today for a change Murphy's Law takes a holiday and the good things are piling up:
I discovered a new chocolate - expensive as sin (4.5 $ for 2.5 oz) but delicious. It's a mix of milk chocolate and white chocolate with ceylon tea and lavender. And since lavender is good against depression and anxiety, I herewith declare this chocolate medication!
My nasty migraine has gone.
My inflamed wisdom tooth is very peaceful today.
My broken sweing and washing machines work flawlessly again.
And best of all: @auntiehill forwarded me the new address of a long-lost and very much missed friend YAY!!!!

Took my old car for a spin, so the battery wouldn't die, and went to Jimmy John's for a #4 with cucumbers (yay!) and found some really soft sweatpants/pajama pants for lying around the house. Lots of cars out front but it seemed like the store was mostly empty. Had my mask on the whole time, but there were some people without one.

Got the yard mulched, mowed, edged and watered. We also got several stones (er....concrete blocks chipped & painted to look like stones) and used them for lining the trees.

Hubby really worked hard. I dug around the trees, and spread mulch in all four "beds" but hubby did the rest.

And I also got to have a long chat with a neighbor, at a safe distance.

YAY!!! I just had the (hopefully...) last appointment for my wisdom tooth. The root had been inflamed since February and a few weeks ago the canine's root got inflamed as well so that there were 2 construction sites simultaneousely. But the canine looks very good now and the wisdomtooth is calming down gradually and only protests a little bit when I bang against it with the toothbrush.

Now I have a whole 2 weeks without a dentist appointment! =)

After that I have 3 sessions for my new implant but those will be harmless since the basis for the implant was set in February and has now healed in. Now we just have to make prints, take measurements and fit a crown onto the basis. Nothing that involves a drill.
