Supernatural 8x2 "What's Up, Tiger Mommy?" Spoiler discussion thread

Re: Supernatural 8x2 "What's Up, Tiger Mommy?" Spoiler discussion thr

Maybe they can choose what color to use, and Crowley simply prefers red while everyone else thinks black is cooler. Or, as previously stated, it's a crossroads demon thing (especially considering how everything else about them tends to be tinted red).

Whatever the reason, I think its a serious criticism that NEEDS to be addressed at all costs. And if they don't, I will be absolutely outraged and will have to quit the show. Because it's that damned important!

Maybe only Kings of Hell get red smoke.

Azazel ruled hell his was Black, after Azazel was killed Lilith ruled Hell her's was Black...

Wasn't Satan ruling Hell at this time though? Weren't their missions to either open the gates of Hell (Azazel) or help Satan cross over into our realm? (Lilith) I didn't know they were the actual rulers. I thought they were middle management, so to speak.

Well they rule the main area of Hell, an area Lucifer doesn't have access to.

In fact Lucifer is still in Hell, all the time Crowley is claiming the title of King of Hell. Lucifer is in the same place he has been when Azazel was in charge, and then when Lilith was in charge.

Fromt eh time Lilith was sealed deep in the pitt (ie not as deep as Lucifer but deep), shows that Hell as different levels and they aren't easily crossed. Basically yellow eyes ruled Hell for a long, long time, in Lucifer's absence. How long had Hell been without ever hearing Lucifer? Thousands of years, how long did it take YED to find a place that he could communicate with Lucifer?

Opening the Devil's gate either directly freed Lilith (the new power rising), or made it possible for her to interact with the rest of Hell and free herself. Either way with Azazel destroyed she didn't have to contend with anyone else,a s one of the oldest and most powerful demons.

An interesting aside, we find out that Sam actually tried to bodily enter Hell through a devil's gate. Could you imagine how powerful Sam would be in Hell (if he would have done this after discovering what fuels his abilities), and near infinite supply of demons to feed on. Just the full life force of one was able to kill Lilith, two was enough to host Lucifer? And per the Horseman, Sam system would never suffer from having to much.

Unfortunately for Sam hen he was bodily assumed into Hell it was to the deepest part of the Pitt where no Demon has ever been, and only Lucifer, Michael and the soul of his half brother Adam.

Does Sam still have his abilities? We have not heard much about them since he returned from Hell. If you think about it, its kind of odd that soulless Sam did not make use of those abilities since from a practical standpoint they would have been useful. It seems kind of irresponsible of the boys not to at least consider using them against the Leviathans. Of course Dean can be a dick about such things and would have said no even if it meant that the human race was reduced to the level of cattle.

I am sure that Sam doesn't have his abilities any more, even though the show went to great lengths to make them something that even death couldn't separate from him (the act not the being), based on the show Angels, and demons can't remove them, and they are tied to Sam's physical body not his soul. And even returned after his body was killed.

As for use against the Leviathans, it wouldn't work. In general Sam's ability only directly works against demons. But he literally could use those abilities to control a demon (like Ava) to do actually damage to others.

But when he when they were going against Crowley to get Sam's soul, there was no one better way to do so then Sam. As up to that point, Castiel had not been able to take out a powerful demon, just normal every day ones, as witnessed by the difficulty he had with Allistar compared to Sam who we know with enough blood can destroy or torture to get his way with any demon, even the most powerful ones.

So instead of dealing with a character that has abilities with a distinct downside (the huge withdrawal issue, and the fear over the dame to his soul), and limited to only impact one type of Supernatural beings, the show amped up the abilities of Castiel far beyond what they had previously been (remember when he could only take one demon and only a normal one at a time in season 4) and one whose abilities work on all other supernatural beings except one.

Stupid.

But I know the writers don't now want Sam to have those abilities, but I hate the fact that they never, once address it.

I might quibble about the olor Crowley's demon form. But something so key to the character actually should be explained especially as both in season 6 when working for Crowley, and at the end of season 7 start of 8 with Crowley as an adversary, it really treats the show more like Charmed then a series show.

In the episode where they confront Crowley to free Sam soul in the middle or so of season 6, there should have been dialogue telling us that "souless" Sam tried and no longer had access to those abilities (as he wouldn't have worried about the moral issue). Then we could simply explain it away as God (who has in very rare occasions interceded (like restoring Castiel twice) and removing the demonic taint from him when his body was brought back from the Pit by Castiel.

There has only been one scene that made me question if Sam still did have his powers and that was when Lisa and Ben were kidnapped and Dean was torturing a demon, and Sam offered to take over for him. Sam had never before been shown to torture, he certainly isn't a master with a decade of experience like Den was. The only way Sam has been successful in torturing a demon was with his own abilities.

Addressed, takes very little time, important data, and done by a one of the two beings probably powerful enough to do so. Though with God's giving them the choice of how they screw up the universe, would God remove those abilities, or let Sam strive to use his own judgment?
And I hate Charm, and I hate the show to take the easy way out.

Oh I have an odd question.

We know Heaven can be basically anything a person wants it to be. Its basically designed around memories.

We know in Hell that its been described as a horribly painful place, but we also know that Crowley can change its perception, even in the deepest part of the Pit we now know that Lucifer can control its environment Or at least how its perceived.

So my question is two fold.

1. Was Hell created (in this universe) already to put punish the early human souls (or at the very least to keep them separate from Heaven? Or was it created as a means to hold Lucifer, and Lucifer's few early followers and creations (like Lilith) then sent there?

And if so was it Lucifer who twisted it into a dark evil place.
