Next to last episode of the season tonight, good people. Can you believe it? I, as usual, have lousy CW reception so I'm waiting to watch it online at 11 pm when my other means site usually has it up and no, it isn't the CW website. Pathetic that other sites can have the eppy up first, no?

Have fun. :techman:

While I liked this episode, can I just hear a shout out for how stupid Sam and Dean were with the girl. Seriously. Check her, do the cut yourself and sprinkle a little blood on her.

I mean seriously, oh she's in the nest and she a captive she must be human. Have they never watched this show. There first encounter with Vamps had a girl who was tied up, who guess what...Was a Vampire...

Was nice to see the alpha Vamp back (the best of the alphas), nice to see mention of Eve and how they are related. Am curious how it went Purgatory with Levis and then finally Eve, before the birth of the monsters. But wasn't expecting to ever hear how that happened.

Nice to see Bobby really pushing it, I don't want Casper the friendly Ghost. I want the fact that he is dead to have serious complications for them.

Nice to see Crowley keeping an ear out for Castiel. Seriously worry about Sam and Dean having some of your blood and don't even look at he who used to suck Demon blood, Sam. Yeah...

Nice to see Dick and Crowley.

Nice to see Dean's reaction to an actual healthy diet.....PIE!!!!!!!NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And nice to really see the guys strong reaction to an actual monster. One that due to circumstances they can't kill today.

A good set-up episode. Yes, Sam & Dean should've seen that the girl's heart belonged to "Daddy;" that was a stupid mistake. Still, I loved the bit with Crowley and the poor dude with the slurpee.

What was it Dean called him when he handed over the syringe? I couldn't make that out.

I wonder how much damage a ghost can do to other "monsters?" Is Bobby a danger to anyone but humans?

The tests could have happened off camera, and she did end up being human. She's just become emotionally attached to the alpha.

The girl was a human. Dean even mentioned "Stockholm syndrome" after they found out what side she was on.

As soon as I saw that girl I knew she wasn't to be trusted. She looked kind of creepy. I couldn't believe that Sam and Dean fell for that.

Sam and Dean were raised to respect women. For all their horny proclivities, they aren't misogynists.

Loved the alpha. See you next season, indeed.

Oh, Bobby...... :( Bobby, Bobby, Bobby..... :( You are loved. How does that end well?

Didn't the girl say something about being kidnapped twelve years ago? I think the guys probably just assumed that creepiness would be a natural result of growing up that in that sort of situation.

While the girl was human, the boys shoulda known not to trust her being under the Alphas control for 12 years.

Besides that, good setup episode, not much else to say, was neat seeing the Alpha vamp and the Levi go at it verbally, now the Alpha vamp knows where they stand. A little dissapointed though that the Alpha vamp didn't figure this out earlier and trusted the Levi's to keep their word. As long as he's lived, he shoulda been a bit more distrustful of them.

On to the finale! Does it really even feel like the end of a season to you? It doesn't to me, certainly not as big of an ending as past seasons have been. This so far seems to be the weakest buildup to an ending in the series, IMO.

When do we see any evidence that they were raised to respect women? Don't see it at all. They do tend to trust who ever they see as the victim. Man, Women, Child. But in general settings, I see no real difference between either on how they treat women, unless they are actually flirting. And in questionable times, they have had no problem seeing women as mortal threats.

I mean just look how Sam reacted to Meg, after running into her for the 2nd time. He automatically took that has a sign of no good.

That reads to seeing anyone, with even a little odd chance has being a threat.

Just because a man sees a woman as a physical threat (especially one that may be harboring a demon) doesn't mean he doesn't respect women as a whole. Some women in their world are dangerous. They always treated Ellen and Jo with deference; they didn't treat Annie (whom all three of them slept with) as some kind of slut. It's just a degree of manners that some men have....and some don't.

Ok, perhaps I am not phrasing it correctly. Dean, especially and Sam tend to treat women with respect who have earned it or who won't except anything else.

They both dismissed Jo until she showed that she had earned respect. Ellen's immediate authority helped her get respect right from the get go.

Missouri, by sure force of personality made sure Dean showed her respect, he didn't just give it to her.

With Meg, Dean didn't respect her, she was just snother women he wanted ti spread her legs for Sam, until he knew something was up. Sam did because he released something was up. And this is when they thought she was just a human.

We have had Dean treat many women has just a sex object for himself or for Sam, especially when he was trying to get Sam laid.

They absolutely can treat women as a serious threat (well you could certainly argue there are bits wi Bela we they didn't), but after a couple episode they treated the character how they should have after the first encounter.

We have seen Dean being dismissive of women, as he sees them as damsels in distress (a lot more in season one). Of course, also in fairness the show does put many a women in the role of damsel in distress.

But from the get go, I never saw any real attitude about women being shown respect, that wasn't shown to be earned ( which they shouldn't have to show you, either sex, not just women) or part of the scam to earn the trust of the locals, in which case I wouldn't call it showing respect, since you are just acting. Also in fairness, especially in the beginning, Dean doesn't treat many people who haven't shown that they earned it, with respect. Men, women, ect.

Not to even mention all the player moves by Dean, hardly respectful (though in fairness there are members of both sex that like that just as part of the game before a hook up). Personally I always, back twenty plus years ago felt respect by someone just coming up and saying I think you look really good, and I would like to take you home and have great sex.

Now Sam has , for most of the series, shown more casual manners in how he treats well everyone (save kids that Dean normally treats fairly well). But was that in truth how he was raised or in did he choose those manners to just act as far away from Dean and John as possible?

I wouldn't be surprised--CW won't be satisfied until they thoroughly run the show into the ground--probably the only thing stopping that would be for one or both of the guys to no re-up--which I'm surprised they haven't given that Kripke and now Gamble are gone and that they wouldn't want to be pigeonholed in these roles.

I don't think the CW cares about running the show into the ground so much as they care that it gets better ratings than almost everything else they air.

Supernatural will get SLAUGHTERED by Modern Family and NCIS:LA. Why are they moving it from Friday?

Well back in the day with the WB WED was a big night...I am guessing the CW under Mark Pedowitz is trying to recapture that magic. CW recently has had WED night as a reality dumping ground. Rookie Arrow & vet Supernatural seems like a good gamble. I hope it pays off. :)
