I didn't figure out the twist right away, so I guess I'm a retard.![]()
Well...erm...ghm....er..... Tis but a figure of speech.
I thought something was up when the kids Sam killed didn't "flame out" so to speak when stabbed with the knife. I really liked Titus Welliver as War, pulling those strings and manipulating. War isn't all catastrophic explosions. There's collateral damage. This town was collateral damage. Since I was unfortunately spoiled about the "end game" to be revealed in episode 4--I won't reveal it--all I can say is that it makes sense that War isn't going whole hog on an epic scale just yet. Trust me on that, Thrall.![]()
Ill take your word on that then. It's just, The Four Horsemen need to be larger-then-life and have a sense of dread and danger. I didn't get it from this guy. When a couple of mortals can easily overpower War, well he's kind of a wuss to begin with then. Read Good Omens. The War in that book is one of the highlights.
I really liked this episode. I give it high marks; at least an A. I loved the way War was represented. Not every destructive act has to be flashy and in your face. I liked War's subtly and sense of humor. I'm sure War can be all the images you've conjured, but the fact that these evil personifications aren't one-sided, and show a bit of capriousness, fascinates me. I think this is going to be a kick ass season.
It is sad to see the brothers so at odds with each other, but they need to work on themselves individually before they can work on their relationship and be a force to reckon with as a team. Also, loved Castiel and Bobby. Castiel using a cell phone was so...matter-of-fact. And Bobby's anger is understandable. Still, I liked the way he got down to business after his hissy fit. It was great seeing Ellen again, the character and actress is by far better than either Ruby or Bela or their actresses. Between Supernatural and Sons of Anarchy I'm in hog heaven as far as my TV viewing goes.
