Supernatural 3x9 "Malleus Maleficarum" SPOILERS

Unfortunately not, Temis, but it'll be up at the CW website by Monday. Sometimes the CW is actually on the ball and gets it posted by the weekend, but you never know with them. Little blondie demon is the daughter of honest to God "I think I love you" Partridge Family fame, David Cassidy. Her name's Katie.

I discovered Supernatural less than two weeks ago. I wanted to catch up by 3x09... :)

I missed 1.5 eps...

But never mind, now I'm up to speed - oh wait, now I have to wait a week for every new episode. Bummer.

But it was a good episode :)

Any questions you have, Darth_Daver, I can fill in the blanks. Glad you discovered the show. Have you seen all three seasons, or just the current season?

Glad to see someone pick up the show. WHile the production sometimes is very limited by budget the acting and relationship of the leads is never short of astounding.

If you haven't watched seasons 1 & 2 I highly recommend it. I am sure that between Dorian & I we could recommend key episodes to watch both for the overall arc and just generally quality.

I just got around to watching SN tonight. Thursday wanted to pile up a lot of things I wanted to watch--the CNN Democratic debate, Lost, Eli Stone, SN.

I really enjoyed it. I thought it was quite solid and involving. The witches weren't exactly terrifying and were intended to come across as a "Desperate Housewives" version of suburban witches.

Ruby has really grown on me. I liked how they gave her a sympathetic shading by exploring her background and for now she seems to not have an ulterior motive beyond wanting to do the right thing and may be redeem herself. I thought her scene with Dean at the end was quite moving. It was a nice moment when she saves Dean. In fact, that was a tension-filled moment as Sam frantically searches for the magic bag but I don't think that Sam could have drove fast enough to get to the ladies' home before Dean succumbed. I'll suspend my disbelief.

I also liked the idea of most demons being humans who've lost their humanity. Interesting insight/revelation into the demons.

I'm curious who the new player is that wants Sam out of the way and wants to lead the demon army.

I hope the remaining three episodes are as enjoyable as thi one.

When I say "I'm catching up with a series" I mean it from the start :)
Thanks for the wishes and advices, but I have seen all seasons, and I agree it was pretty good. It is in my top5 currently (around number 4 or 5...)

Just one quick question... What are the chances on s4 currently? :)

The chances for season 4 are very good, especially with the strike. The CW was caught with its pants down. It has no scripted pilots available. Zero. Kripke says he expects a fourth season.

You see, CW is half owned by Warner Brothers, which is SPN's studio. Supernatural currently airs in 46 foreign markets. That's major money in the bank for Warner. They're going to want four or five seasons for a nice, 100 episode second run syndication deal now. Ackles admitted this outright at a con in London last May to the attendees. As long as Warner considers SPN a cash cow, it's safe. Dawn Ostroff wanted to cancel it after last season in favor of her new teen shows, (which have bombed in the live ratings) but the higher ups at Warner stepped in and said, "No, you won't."

Warner also produced Veronica Mars, but VM sold like crap in the overseas market. Ergo, it was cancelled.

Re: Supernatural 3x9 "Malleus Maleficarum" SPOILERS

Hi there Dorian and mswood and all the other regulars. After "Supernatural Christmas" my life basically went to hell and I lost my ability to continue watching SN. Only now am I finally catching up with things, and I just watched this episode this week. Way way way behind the rest of you, I know, so forgive me.

Don't spoil me on anything from here onwards!

Anyway, liked it. the head-witch demon was pretty cool - liked that she was completely way ahead of the boys and threw them around like they were nothing, after all their posturing and bad-assitude.

And we have another new twist to the mytharc - all demons used to be humans, and when Dean goes to hell he will become what he hates the most. Just like what happened to Gordon in "Fresh Blood,' and what Dean feared would happen to him way back in "In My Time of Dying." He cannot accept that. In that ep it inspired himt o accept death - here, it inspires him to reject it. But at the same time, Ruby admits that she doesn't know any way around the deal, but evades the question when Dean asks her why she lied. So why did she claim she could when she couldn't? Is she really the "good demon" she claims to be?
