Spoilers "Superman & Lois": The Fourth and Final Season

But that's just the problem. Doomsday is just brute force. The idea that Superman would be afraid of something that can only punch him is an affront to his character. Superman isn't just a pile of muscle, he's got a genius intellect and a creative approach to problem-solving. A literally mindless punching machine shouldn't pose a significant threat to him at all. He should be able to think of a creative way to neutralize the threat, rather than just trying to punch back. Doomsday is just so, so much less than Superman that it was an insult to pass him off as Superman's ultimate nemesis.

The one thing about Doomsday that would scare Superman is that Doomsday would relentlessly destroy any civilians who got in his way. That's what Superman fears -- not his own death, but his failure to protect others. But it undermines that when Doomsday is monomaniacally targeting Superman himself and everyone else is just collateral damage.
Anybody who thinks Doomsday is Superman's ultimate nemesis really doesn't know the character that well. I'd say his main nemesis are Lex, Zod, Brainiac, and Darkseid.
And if one would just want to see "Doomsday done right", then I suggest, just to film "The Death of Superman" - it has been done as cartoon, now do the real-life-version of exactly that. Don't put it at the End of BVS, just film "The Death of Superman" - it's a no-brainer to create. You don't even need people to draw the storyboard, 'cause it's all in the comics.
Actually there have been 2 animated versions of Death of Superman, Doomsday, and The Death of Superman & Reign of the Supermen.

Yeah, but that's how it's represented. Lex? Psssh. Zod? Pah. Brainiac? Take care of him on a bad monday. Darkseid? Granted, that's a tabid more difficult. But Doomsday? He killed Superman, he managed to do that, what all the others couldn't do. (Granted, Doomsday didn't kill Superman that easily. They beat each other up to a pulp, and in the end, both went down. Plus, IIRC at least in the Book, that I own - if I'm not mistaken, written by Peter David, by the way - the book ends with Doomsday being put in an asteroid... and he still awakens. So in the end - at least in that book - both didn't actually die but were so exhausted, that everyone thought, that they were dead.)

That I know, JD, and maybe - if one wanted to tell a story, that is close to the original - one should have a look at these movies and then re-create it for the live-action-movies. It's just an idea.

I keep forgetting to mention that it bugged me that everyone kept pronouncing Luthor's company as 'core' instead of 'corp'.

Hey, they don't all have to be big gripes. ;)

...And it's a pity it took so long for them to design a supersuit that really look pretty good on Clark. I can try to look past the oddities of the previous versions, but it really did take them quite a while to nail it down.

yeah if they wanted it pronounced "lex core", it would have been spelled lex corps, duh!

family members have known students who pronounced "marine corps" as "marine corpse"...

I once wrote the joke, that the character, I'm always writing about didn't understand "Naval Criminal Investigative Service" but "Navel Criminal Investigative Service" and asked himself "How many crimes are navels involved in?"

Plus: "Lex Chore" could've worked, too - since it's a chore to be responsible for a Corp. In german, the joke "Navy Corps"/"Navy Chor" (choir), works too - so, my question is: What does the Navy Chor sing these days?

That makes me wonder if we could have gotten a Steel spin-off if the CW hadn't moved away from big budget scripted series.
I doubt it. While John Henry evolved into one of Superman and Lois' most interesting characters, he was best served as the former "lost alien" and his interaction with the man he initially tried to kill--the other "lost alien" Kal-El, along with his family's contrasting experiences with prime earth.

As I said somewhere uptopic, I would have loved to see a Steel and Starlight series. I liked both characters, and actors, very much. And if we were back in the heyday of DC's CW productions, I imagine there's a decent chance we would have gotten one.

That's weird it's Corp, because it's short for corporation, it's not a corps like the Marines.

Sure in this series, but I think the actor and character are good enough that they could find something else just interesting to do with him, and the same goes for Natalie and the actress who played her.

Just saw the last 2 episodes last night. I really really loved this show. Its such a shame it was cut short. Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch are the best Superman and Lois since Reeve and Kidder. Such a wonderful and inspiring show! Much thanks to the cast, writers, producers, and the rest of the crew! I hope this show just finds a bigger and bigger audience in syndication. It deserves it!

I like this suit better than the new one. Didn’t find the score fit for this scene as presented. Some bits, but not the whole thing.

I'm not sure if this will go into syndication, I don't think any of the Arrowverse shows haven't gone into syndication for quite a while now. I think TNT showed Arrow and possibly The Flash for a while, but I think they stopped years ago.
