How many political posts have I made that weren't directly related to the show and the writers?
The pandering and misandry on Supergirl is quite prevalent, and it hurts the show. The point of these boards is to talk about the good and bad, potential or otherwise, but one thing that is a constant is the vitriol against conservatives, be it against me, or as written on these shows. The post I responded to this morning had nothing to do with Superman. Nothing to do with the show at all. It was just a hateful, racist, misandrist diatribe against conservatives in general.
One thing I would like to offer you is something you don't get enough of, and that's a conservative point of view, and if your side will tone down the hate of conservatives in general and just listen, I'll do the same. Gladly.
What we have on these shows is forced politics with one side demonized and another side pandered to because the writers are very ignorant of conservatives and care more about a political agenda than entertaining. Instead of trying to defend it, take a moment and see why this demonization is unpopular and likely causing people to stop watching Supergirl.
Please note also that I don't focus solely on politics. Even in this thread I have not done that at all. My hopes for this show is that it is not political because the politics does not entertain and alienates too many people. We have the news for politics. Would you like a show that constantly espoused conservative views and demonized liberals?
I still watch because I really like the classic characters. And when that show decides to entertain, it's damn good. I want to see Superman focus on the storytelling and leave the political commentary for something else.
