You're wrong too, of course. Speedo is a brand name - you might remember to capitalize properly from now on - and they make a range of mens swimwear in many styles.

You know damn well I was referring to a particular style of especially skimpy bathing attire that is in the popular consciousness referred to generically as a "speedo."

I'm sure that from here forward we can expect to see Superman's costume change and evolve in both the comics and future films in the same way that Batman and Wonder Woman's have - the initial resistance to changing it once after so many decades has been broken at last and anything's possible.

What change? The longest running changes have been the eagle to w (and back again) and the intermittent yellow circle. Or are you nitpicking the height in centimeters of the boots or whether the "S" on the cape is all yellow?

These characters' looks have been consistent since their inception (after some initial refinement in a few instances). People like them that way. Major changes are always temporary. Amazing how some people keep falling for them time after time.

The trunks will be back within a year.

Personally, I see no reason why they have to change ditch the trunks for the comic. Superhero costumes - in whatever form - work better in the comics. The general public doesn't read the comic anyway. They won't get confused.

Actually if anything, they might decide to adopt Snyder's costume for the comics, if the movie proves popular enough. Or at least something similar.

Personally I think it's a better solution than what Lee came up with (although that costume is growing on me as well).

hate the suit. At first I kind of like how dark the blue was, because it mad it distinctly different than Donner/ Singer versions, plus it has more attitude. But without trunks or any color by the belt, it looks more like he works as a SCUBA diver. Can't believe they are afraid of the trunks. Sure they might seem silly, but Superman wouldn't care.

Lee's costume is better than the movie one. I much prefer the belt over go-faster stripes.
