The flying shots on Smallville were spectacular. Better than anyone expected at the time. Any reason they couldn't do more of that?

Of course, the television universe and the movie universe could just be on different Earths in the same multiverse, allowing for a one or two time crossover with actors from the movies.
Simple transition shots would get old pretty quickly. And the Flash series has a serious advantage in that they can shoot background plates and such at ground level. For convincing and satisfying photoreal Supergirl effects, they'd have to render whole cities from the air, just as Marvel had to build a digital NYC for The Avengers. When you look at the amount and quality of effects in the new Flash series, I don't really see flying being much of an issue for Supergirl. Obviously they won't be able to have her engaging in massive MOS-style battles in the sky or fighting giant robots, but it should still be possible to do some simpler transition shots of her flying through the clouds to her destination or wherever.
They can now use drone cameras as well as CGI, I imagine similar flying effects will used in Fox's Greatest American Hero pilot.
I doubt it is. LA's legal authorities might let a small outfit get away with it for an isolated incident or two, but a regular TV series would certainly have to get right with the proper authorities and bureaus. What happens if the battery fails, and the drone just drops from the sky? In a crowded city, involuntary manslaughter, that's what happens.I'm surprised that it's legal to fly those things around like that.
And that would suck. considering how many times it's been done.
