Supergirl TV Series is being work on.

Will this series be linked to flash and arrow?

Unknown at this point. Berlanti has suggested that it potentially could be, but at this early stage they may still be undecided -- and if they have decided, they haven't said so publicly yet.

I am personally getting bored of all this DC TV Shows on the CW.

All two of them? They haven't quite taken over the network yet, though they are talking about another spinoff. (And there's iZombie premiering soon, which is another DC-owned title, but I doubt it'll be in the same continuity.)

Different networks.

So many lawyers if it was thinkable.

What is possible... They can pick up Jim Corrigan and John Consatantine from Constantine, since it's as good as cancelled and still use those names as long as they don't mention anything that happened in the NBC show.

I mean NBC doesn't keep the exclusive rights for these characters for the next couple years does it?

I'm not sure I like the idea of Supes himself being even a background unseen element of this show; seems like it could easily undercut Kara. It certainly didn't help Birds of Prey back in the day that Batman was often referenced but never seen.

Superman is busy in deep space or in the future with the LSH. Supergirl steps up to the plate to cover things. No problem.

Different networks.
But still of the same company.

Well, sort of. CBS is a partner in The CW along with Warner Bros., because it arose as the merger of The WB and UPN.

Well, had BoP been written by writers and acted by actors, I don't think anyone would have noticed about Batman. :p

Well, that's not fair. Birds of Prey had some excellent cast members. Dina Meyer was a fantastic Barbara Gordon, Ian Abercrombie was one of the best screen Alfreds ever, and Mia Sara was excellent as Harley Quinn. Rachel Skarsten and Shemar Moore were just okay (though Skarsten was young and has improved considerably in the years since), but the only real failure was Ashley Scott as Huntress. She was playing a character who was supposed to be sort of a female Wolverine, feral and aggressive and full of rage and bitterness, but she played it as kittenish, flirty, and petulant instead. Although that may have been because the network wanted the show to feel like Charmed and have the same kind of light banter among its leads.

Kara stepping out of the shadows has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what her cousin may or may not be doing. The two of them aren't even in each other's lives, given that they're residing in cities that are "halfway across the country" from one another, and given that Kara's been living a normal life for 12 years.

Oooooh, burn! Well then, it didn't help?

:techman: I tended to put it down to the writing myself, but yeah it's unfortunate that the main character didn't work at all when some surrounding pieces (Dina Meyer!!!) were good.

Which would make sense if we weren't talking about Kryptonians who can fly halfway across the country faster than I can walk to the convenience store.

The problem with Scott's Huntress wasn't in the writing; the problem was that her performance conflicted with and undermined the intensity of the character as written.

Ashley Scott was just fine as The Huntress, the series was far too short to develop any of the characters. But the failure of the show was more or less the script's fault, they had simply run of the mill stories that we'd seen on a dozen other shows. Of course the Supergirl might run into the same problem. We'll probably get the same old exuces to hide her identity and her powers and sadly Supergirl doesn't have much a rogue of villains.

Greg Berlanti recently mentioned that he required as part of his contract for Supergirl that he could crossover it with Arrow/The Flash. So it is certainly an option for him if and when he wants to do it. He obviously is interested if he asked for that as part of his deal.

I suspect he is being a little coy to wait for the proper time. This may take place in the same universe but is not a direct spin-off like The Flash was. He probably wants it to be fully developed and a success in its own right first before planning and announcing crossovers.

Well it probably helps some that Kara has all the same powers and abilities as Superman, and flies around in the same kind of colorful costume. So there shouldn't be quite the same nagging feeling the entire time that we're missing out on something cool by not having him around (like we had with Batman in BoP or with an entire roster of Marvel superheroes in SHIELD).

We'll likely be too busy watching Supergirl do all of her cool things instead.

I don't know if I'd really put the lack of the big superheroes in Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. in the same category as the lack of the big B in Birds of Prey. Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. is part of a bigger universe where we are seeing those characters, while BOP was the only thing in it's universe, which meant we had no way to see Batman.

I loved Brooks in Necessary Roughness, but is there anyway to make Mechad less attractive and a foot sorter?

If he's not her leading man love interest, either her leading man love interest is Justin Timberlake, or the leading man love interest is going to pale (yes I see what I did there, no I'm not changing it.) in comparison, especially if he winds up being white.

"Your lies are transparent and thanks to my x-ray vision, I can see through you."

Yes, yes, there's no guarantee that every one doesn't already have a girlfriend and aboy friend and there is nt going to be a meet cute and the genesis of an epic love affair... DID YOU LEARN NOTHING FROM SUPERMAN RETURNS!? Do nnot marry the girl off it just makes the guy be a perve, and do not marry off the boy because then idiots are throwing about terms like bunnyboiler!

Yes historically Jimmy throws himself at women well out of his league, but if we are just talking about superficial aspects here, are there women out of this (particular) Jimmy Olsen's league?

So, it's a no brainer that they do not recast for Chloe O'Brien in this new series, right?

Of course as far as her leading man love interest man being a dull looking white guy who might as well be from the cast of Saturday Night Live might stand, maybe they could invest in a horse of another colour? Literally a horse. Supergirl in the comics used to #### her horse.

I love comics.

Maybe it'll end up like Torchwood?

Boyfriend at home, in love with the boss, and shagging the fishfaced psychopath who works in the basement... Although I usually contend that Supergirl is the embodiment of Midwestern virtue not a slapper from Cardiff, so I doubt Kara will be having complicated extrarelationshippal affairs in season one.

According to the original character breakdown for James, Kara has a crush on him, so we'll see what happens.

The bit about his reasons for being in National City being mysterious is something we'd never heard before, and should add an interesting dynamic to his character.

As far as the actor goes, I'm not familiar with him, so it'll be interesting to see what he brings to the role.

The idea of a black guy playing Jimmy has been kicking around since Chris Rock was linked to the role for Superman Lives, though Brooks seems to be much more of a heart-throb/pin-up type guy and less of the comic relief that Rock would've (presumably) brought to the role.
