Wow...... just wow. The cluelessness of this post is just off the charts.
I mean, I don't know a lot about the trans community, but even I know not to talk like that...
"Transgendered" is not a word, it's transgender person. Transgender is a type of person, it's not something that happens to you. You're either born that way or you're not. It's not a man becoming a woman or vice versa either, she was never a man. It's not only completely incorrect, but deeply insulting to imply that.
I'm not a mod of course, but I would like to humbly suggest that we not jump to conclusions about poster's intentions. I would certainly hope to be politely corrected if I made an error in wording around a sensitive issue rather than attacked.
Lets not attack thribs without giving him a chance to defend himself first, maybe he doesn't mean it like that but just used the wrong words without wanting to insult people.
It's not an attack. Nothing was meant to imply any intentions, just to make things very clear about wording.
We had Tuvok on last season, this season it's either Janeway or Paris (or one of their lizard kids)...

It wasn't your post I was referring to though--in fact, it was more the impact of the four posts in a row rather than a single post that made me want to reply like that. I was trying to not actually place any blame--just polite suggestions.
I was suggesting that those words and phrasing no longer be used because of how insulting they are. Given the casting of Nia, this is probably going to come up a lot and we're better off avoiding that.
But every once in a while the best hopefully?
This is Supergirl so it was pretty much a given.
Extremely rarely. We're currently an open season group for the left and right, so it's largely going to be the worst of people you see. I mean even tonight I've logged on for about half an hour and scrolled through more crap than I can take from "intellectuals" "debating" without a fucking clue.
Generally only in spaces run by trans people and there is a large amount of moderation, everywhere else is fairly toxic by default.
