Spoilers Supergirl - Season 3

Maybe this'll be the first big crossover set on Supergirl's Earth.

That would be very cool. It would be great to see all the heroes visit Supergirl's Earth for once. The Flash has been there already but I don't think the Green Arrow or the Legends have.

Not as far as we know. But I'm thinking... Oliver had to get that kryptonite from somewhere. Maybe he borrowed an extrapolator from Cisco and met up with Lena at some point...?

It would make sense for Oliver to have an extrapolator handy. He may need Supergirl's help. Plus, an extrapolator is a great tool for getting your team away from danger in an emergency (such as when you're on an island that is about to explode).

I don't think he needs to hook up with Lena to get Kryptonite. Lena has to make her own because J'onn gave Earth 38's supply to Superman to dispose of it. No Super on Earth 1, so no need to dispose of it there. He just needed to find it.

Going back to Lena and the Kryptonite question... I am shocked again that James had to CONVINCE Lena to hand the Kryptonite weapon over to SG to fight Reign.

When Lena was arguing against doing that very thing with James, she excused herself by complaining that SG would never trust her again if she came forward with the Kryptonite (well duh, she lied) and would then prevent Lena from making more Kryptonite (well duh, because Lena lied about it and is keeping it for herself to decide when it should be used) in the future. Why SHE needs a supply more than the DEO is anyone's guess.

And when SG called Lena out re: lying "to (her) FACE", Lena parsed her words. She didn't lie about LEX's Kryptonite... it was gone. She just lied by omission by neglecting to tell SG that Lena has her OWN Kryptonite, and technically an easily renewed supply.

Lena's veracity was worthy of a politician this week.

It will be very interesting what they will do with Lena if they don't figure out how to rehab Reign and she loses her friendship with Kara (and by extension with Alex and Ruby) over the SG issue. Her female friendships have been one of the flowering wonders Lena has discovered since coming to National City and have grounded her.

But there doesn't seem to be a Superman on Earth-1, otherwise that world would've known about superheroes long before the Flash came on the scene. So it's possible the Krypton of that timeline never exploded, or hasn't yet. In which case there's no kryptonite on Earth-1. Well, unless Jor-El failed to launch Kal-El's and Kara's pods in time to escape the blast, or if they both got caught in the Phantom Zone, or something.

Besides, I'm thinking that Oliver's request could've been Lena's catalyst for developing synthetic kryptonite.

I don't think Lena is going to make Kryptonite for just any masked vigilante from another universe without asking that universal question, "Who are you and why should I give you the means to kill Supers?"

For a moment, remove Lena from the situation, and replace her with Anyone; its their business to make or use Kryptonite in as it is not illegal to do so (otherwise, that would have been the natural position for SG to take--but she did not) This is not arguing in favor of potentially darker intentions, but the right an individual has over their ability to exercise their intellectual curiosity. Supergirl and the DEO have no say in that, so one can understand Lena's indignation (elevator scene) to Supergirl shaking her fist and making assumptions and demands of anyone with no authority to do so. That's not even getting into how ethically bankrupt it was to press James into committing a crime--breaking and entering--and apparently not caring that anything could go wrong--even for Guardian, which could have ended with his arrest or something worse.

This is not defending Lena across the board (because I've always thought she would end up a villain one way or another since her earliest appearances on the show), but SG's position and actions are indefensible, and unless there's a total about face of behavior between Lena & SG in the next episode (which would be rushed and unrealistic), SG is becoming a darker character at the same time she was trying to reach the good within Reign.

^^
Cool, nice to see the show continues to push for diversity and representation in its characters.
Since she's a reporter and a regular character, I guess this means they'll be focusing on CatCo more after they didn't do much at all there this season.

Well, Jamie Clayton may be available now that Sense8 is over...

She was my first thought, though to be honest I think by all rights she could and should aim for bigger and better things at this point. I'm slightly biased being a slight Jamie Clayton fanboy but I'd really love to see someone with that level of talent and pre existing fanbase getting a shot at Hollywood after a performance like Nomi.

I'd love to see some other up and coming talent being given a break here, there must be hundreds of transgender actresses who'd jump at the opportunity and I think it would serve the purposes of positive representation better to open the doors that little wider.

Reading through the sample script lines that were posted, this could be a very fun character to have on the show, especially in trying to open Kara up and get her to be warmer with those around her and not so broody.
I can’t wait to see next season just for her.

I agree, I think it will be a fresh and positive thing for the show. I am especially hopeful for the character's interactions with the main cast, seeing how she brings out more personality in them. So far, they feel somewhat 2 dimensional to me. The way this new character is written (from what little I've read) she seems much more lively and extroverted, which would be a good catalyst to take Supergirl in a wonderful direction that I feel it's lacked. I'd like to be less dark and ominous, we have enough other CW shows for that.

I get it that SG is angry at Lena, but SG lies also at lena about her identity.
And Alex and Lena had their talk before they where going on the mission, why did she attack her again in the other dimension with SG?

I do have a hard time believing that Lena can't just tell Supergirl is Kara. I mean, Melissa Benoist has a pretty distinctive hair color. It's not like Clark/Superman whose hair is a pretty typical shade and cut. How many women are there with just that shade of honey-blond hair, and at that length?
