Spoilers Supergirl - Season 2

They may not have concrete plans for Clark to appear beyond the first two episodes, but that won't be the last time we see him.

We'll also see Cat more than just twice this season, even if that's all the appearances they've worked out for Calista thus far.

Collider has a great interview with Supergirl's executive producer Andrew Kreisberg about Season 2 and all the new faces and changes!

Some new info in there. A lot of sites have posted reports from that Press Tour but this includes some questions and answers that no one else shared.

It's so hard to imagine this show without Hank really being Martian Manhunter. I just finished watching the whole season on Blu ray again. The early episodes work much better knowing what the characters relationships really are. I am so glad they did not drag out Hank's secret all season. Most of all that we did not have another series in which the boss/mentor is really a bad guy. If he had really been Hank Henshaw it would have been way too similar to Wells/Reverse Flash.

It's also refreshing that this show is not dominated by an overarching mystery like The Flash has been for two seasons in a row. The Zoom mystery was no where as interesting or well written as the Reverse Flash one was. I worry that show's writers feel they have to repeat the mystery plot every year now.

Sure Supergirl has the Cadmus Project subplot. But that is more in the background. Which I think has advantages because it allows for more character moments over maintaining vague long term plotting.

Well, the Cadmus Project was in the background for Season 1, but it sounds like it will be one of the main arcs for Season 2. They've said it's going to be a big part of the first one or two episodes, and I can't see them tying all of that up that quickly.

You are correct. I think it was wise to save focusing more time on Project Cadmus for a second season. So the first season had the time to establish the characters first.

Completely agree. Even if he's not the focus of the show, I find it hard to believe they will only use him twice. If they didn't want him to be an active part of the show, they would have just continued to have the Boots of Steel and Supersilhouette.

Don't forget Tiny CGI Superman and IM Clark.
How long till people are examining all those and comparing them to the uniform Hoechlin is wearing looking for "errors"? ;)

I liked IM Clark. I could hear Tom Welling speaking the lines in my head, and fit my headcanon of including Smallville Seasons 1-4.

Well I for one am hoping that Superman will appear in the 4 way crossover and, independent of Supergirl in the other CW shows, especially Arrow.

I would like to see him in more than two episodes (and perhaps in Flash at least) but I also don't want them to overdo it.

It's probably going to be cluttered enough as it is.

Besides, shouldn't we wait and see whether Hoechlin is actually good in the role of Superman before deciding how much more we want to see of him?

Great point. Visually I like how Tyler Hoechlin looks as Superman and I like his (New 52 style) costume. But we haven't seen him act as Superman or as Clark Kent yet. And me personally haven't seen him act at all!

I'd prefer if he'd wear a pre-New 52 costume myself. And Whilst I can understand Christopher's caveat about Hoechlin's performance, I'm really just thinking about seeing the Man of Steel interacting with those other characters especially the Arrow ones who are supposed to be the more grounded of the four shows (so long as he doesn't wrench Olie's am off :-)).

Nice one. :bolian:
I was just surprised because it was a big news story when they announced the Supergirl figure, but I never heard about the one for J'Onn.

I love this picture. Put a big smile on my face. :)

Season 1 will be available on Netflix from September 10th.

Then I don't need to wait to see two episodes a week, even though there is a benefit to doing that. You see the finale and then the next week is the season premiere. With all this talk about crossover and musical episodes and moving to Vancouver, I'm hoping the reveal of who was in the pod that crash landed isn't like a blink and you miss it thing.
