Spoilers Supergirl - Season 2

Have they given Lynda's character a name yet? "President Carter" just has such a bad vibe to it....

Speak for yourself. The man's probably done more good for the world than any other US President. He's just done most of it after his term ended. (It's been said that Jimmy Carter was the first person ever to use the US Presidency as a stepping stone to greater things.)

You may admire him, but it's a well-known fact that he's political Kryptonite. They don't even give him a prime-time spot at the conventions.

^Well, that's politics. I daresay there is no living political figure to whom the word "bad" (in a moral sense) is less applicable than Jimmy Carter. Heck, that's why he wasn't great at politics -- he was just too decent a human being to excel as a politician. And since we are talking about Supergirl (and Wonder Woman, obliquely), I think a lifelong humanitarian and peacemaker is not a bad role model, even if his presidency was among the least of his accomplishments.

What about something like President Marston or Gains?

On another note, have they mentioned any plans to bring other Els on to the show? I had a passing thought earlier today that Campbell Scott would be perfect for Jor-Man.

well i dunno who said that, but i would disagree with them. Taft becoming Chief Justice comes to mind.

I'd hardly call that a "tough girl" pose, at least not by CW's standards.

Also, she can punch though concrete walls like they're made of soggy cardboard. That seems sufficiently "tough" to me.

Apparently Supergirl season 1 is coming to Netflix September 10, a month before the season premiere. I'd been banking The CW's reruns on the DVR for later bingeing, but I guess I can watch them commercial-free on Netflix instead.

When it hits Netflix I think I'm going to give Supergirl another try. I did watch the Pilot and the first episode but just couldn't get into it and I wanted to love it badly.
