It looks like it'll be available to watch from home on the 27th/28th! I don't know if I want to buy it right away or just wait until it lands on a regular streaming service. I just picked up another stack of old movies, so I might see how long it takes me to get through them first.
Well, I decided to go ahead and get it! I'm going with a 6/10 at this point. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as I kept seeing people claim, (not that I thought it would be) but I didn't think the story was that great either. It just felt like a typical modern superhero movie. Maybe my tastes have changed in the last few years, but most of them don't really stand out much anymore.
For reference, here are my ratings for the other DCU projects:
Peacemaker - not interested
Blue Beetle - 7/10 (Apparently it's part of the DCU now!)
Creature Commandos - 4/10
Superman - 7/10
Supergirl - 6/10
There were a lot of things I liked still. Seeing the variety of planets and aliens was enjoyable, hopefully future movies expand on that a bit more.
Supergirl herself was an interesting character, and I hope they get to expand on that in some future movies! I would have liked to see more of Sasha Calle's take on the character, but I think they picked a pretty good replacement too.
Lobo was exactly as I imagined him, and I think they would have a hard time finding a better actor for the part! I'm assuming they'll probably keep him as a supporting character for the most part, but he was a fun addition to the movie.
I was glad the stakes weren't some world ending cataclysm, but I didn't find most of the story that engaging, which was my main issue. It felt a little long, and I found my attention wandering by spells. The villain also wasn't particularly memorable, and could have been a bit more fleshed out in my opinion.
If I decide to rewatch it sometime I'll see if my opinions have changed, but I'll probably wait a while. Fingers crossed that we get some more movies! I'm still not sure if I'm interested in watching Clayface, but it's nice to see that they're willing to try different genes.

I barely tolerate having to see movies in a theater with other people, we always try to go as early as possible so that there will be the least amount of people there. It's just that some movies really need to be seen on the biggest screen possible to really get the full impact.I'm even worse than that average, what you've listed there is more movies than I've ever seen in the theater in my life!
It looks bad, its badly written, and its main character is both an unlikable ass and a murderer. Even as someone who hates the comic its (loosely) based on I have to say this film does not do its source material justice, and every change somehow made the story worse. The world being a brown version of GotG mixed with Rick and Morty was just not good. Also, I never want to hear a "needle drop" in a film ever again. The few scenes with Superman and Lobo's few appearances were literally the only enjoyment I got from this movie.
2/10, I'd literally rewatch any DCEU film except WW84 or the JL Snyder Cut before I'd rewatch this. If Supergirl shows up in the Superman sequel hopefully Gunn writes her better (it would be hard for him to do worse).

I liked it. Not spectacular but certainly not dreadful. Six.

Just finished it. It was pretty good. Slightly better than that Superman movie from last year. I think the out of space stuff and the wackiness helped it better stand out. Some interesting changes they made to the lore with having Kara literally younger than Superman now. Usually she's about 16 years older but due to some timey whimey stuff, she's seen as younger.
My nitpicks is that we didn't get a good impression of how long since she landed on Earth this movie is set. I assume its been a few years with all the Earth references she sprouted. The other is her calling him Clark. A trueSaiyan Kryptonian would use his Kryptonian name of Kal El.

I believe that Kara being older than Clark is a retcon from the 90s, or whenever real Kara returned to continuity following COIE.

That version of Kara was introduced in 2004. The origin given in Woman of Tomorrow, and thus, I presume, in the movie, is the same one she originally had in 1959.

I spent all day watching "Alien" with my wife screaming "Bilbo is a Robot!" to help her identify the plot, maybe it was only 5 hours, so it wasn't all day, but with this person "Run time" is just an impertinent suggestion, and I'm starting to feel like a god damned liar calling a Synth a Robot, so I'm half way through apologizing to my old lady for being a filthy liar, when suddenly Parker inside the flatscreen screams "A robot, a God damn Droid!"
And the "Kara's not younger than Kal-el, she was just in stasis longer" idea started with Powergirl's original "JSA" run in the 1970s.
It's been ignored by everyone else, but Geoff Johns' Justice Society run from a few years ago effectively made her first appearance in 1976, the actual year she joined the Justice Society.
This meant she was active decades before Kal-El was and even before he was born! Now, this is hard to make sense of, and it's never explained anywhere else....
I suppose that depends on how long his space pod took to reach Earth. As I recall, there was a line in Superman: The Movie implying that baby Kal-El traveled in suspended animation for thousands of years after leaving Krypton -- although it's contradicted by another line where Jor-El says he could be embracing his son today if he'd lived (unless he was thinking he could've been in suspended animation too). It would be easy enough for another continuity to claim that the trip from Krypton to Earth took decades or longer, although trickier to justify Kara getting to Earth first. (Maybe it could be the inverse of the Supergirl TV series, with Kal-El being the one stuck in the Phantom Zone instead of Kara.)
It's even weirder because it's still the pre-crisis Earth-2 Supergirl who knows both the Earth 1 and 2 Superman. So she might be wondering where this Earth's Superman is!
