Superbowl '09 Commercials, et al - Your Thoughts

Yay! Heroes is starting its 3rd season tomorrow, 02/02/09. I saw the little Superbowl commercial skit the male cast members did. That was funny. Everyone was wearing a jersey and competing with real athletes.

Bruce Springsteen is looking fine for his age. Not sure how old he is, but he's in good shape and still rocking!

I think Bruce is a little too old to be doing some of the things he was doing. And "rocking", yeah... sure. I guess in a "manner."

Commecials this year have been meh. The 3D ones were kinda cool, the Heroes one was really good, though.

The Heroes "game" against the NFL legends was the best so far, I think. Very funny and a good plug fo rhte new season.

Has the ST:XI commercial aired yet, and if yes how was it?
[There are no commercials in the international broadcast I'm watching]

Yup, it aired - pretty good - mostly footage from the first trailer, not a whole lot new.

I really liked the Bud Light commercial where they throw the dude out of the window. The Conan commercial was pretty funny too.

It was on during the 2nd Quarter. I thought it was good although I don't recall seeing Nero though.

My favorite commericals so far were for Budweiser (can I mention the advertiser?) - anything with the Clydesdales :adore: . I missed the Heroes commercial. It must have been on when my signal was out.:scream:

The one that got the biggest laugh of the night was the E-Trade commercial with the babies. We rewound that and watched it like three times.

So far, I think they've been meh. The Clydesdale ads were great. The Coke ad where people turn into their avatars was cute. My favorite so far was Pedigree's "Maybe you should get a dog" ad, "you bad, bad bird!" But nothing that is going to stick in my mind for a long time.

This year's commercials sucked. I've already forgot most of them. The only good ones were the Doritos and the Comcast ad with the Slowsky Turtles.

Conan O'Brien's commercial at the beginning was pretty funny...

But mostly a forgettable set this year...

I expected it to be a down year for commercials, based upon what the projections were. With the cost of the spots coupled with the economy's straits... it just wouldn't make sense to put some big-budget busters out there.

Holy CARP Richard Dean Anderson, making fun of MacGuyver for Pepsi????? WTF!!!

The strange part is no direct mention is made of MacGyver at all. RDA plays the part that usually is played by the SNL host in the MacGruber skits. Though he is dressed like he did on the show. Or an over the top caricature of his look from the show! You have to know that Anderson played MacGyver and MacGruber was (Kind of) based on it. Otherwise you may not know what he is doing there.

I was a big MacGyver fan and don't get MacGruber at all....
Its gone off on some weird tangent and has almost no connection to it at all anymore.
