Re: Summon the Thunder (Spoiler Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
^ Page counts are not an accurate measure of a book's content; fluctuations in type size and spacing can alter the number of words per page.
I have assured Marco that I will do my best to bring in Reap the Whirlwind at fewer than 125,000 words, but I can't make any promises.
For comparison, the approximate word counts on some of my recent books:
Wildfire -- 52,000 words
A Time to Kill -- 72,000 words
A Time to Heal -- 81,000 words
Harbinger -- 94,000 words
Road of Bones (upcoming) -- 87,000 words
Believe me, if I could have told RTW in fewer words, I would have; I don't get paid extra for writing more words than my contract calls for. It's just that the story is, well ... big.
