Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' Famous Musical Episode May Get Turned Into an Actual Stage Musical

Wonder if it the characters will be some version of the SNW crew, or new characters on a new ship.

If nothing else it would be interesting to see how it goes on a live stage where you may not have the benefit of overly elaborate practical effects or a greenscreen/ARG wall for CGI effects.

Decades ago, I attended a Star Trek musical put on by one of our local schools, and they went all out by dressing up the hallways to look like ship corridors. They had greeters dressed up in-uniform to take you to the turbolift, and from there take you to their auditorium, where the stage was made up to look like the Enterprise-D's bridge. The play was based on A Frame of Mind. To this day, it remains one of my favourite experiences in seeing a play.

Been a Trek fan for almost 40 years. I've got models, statues, figures, posters, tapes, DVD's of pretty much everything ever put to film. I've met Leonard Nimoy. I named my son after Captain Kirk. I'm a real fan and I'm looking forward to seeing the series. Making your assumption incorrect. Shocking.

There have been Star Trek theatre productions before, small time unofficial ones I've seen video clips of and I remember seeing something about one being planned in the 90s based on TNG but don't know if it ever came to pass.

A fun side-effect I've wondered about is that, since the musical-theater anomaly was spreading throughout the quadrant, any character who was alive in 2259 would've gone through it, not just the ones in SNW. You can have a comic or novel or something where Bones or some new character just references that time everybody started singing everything a few years ago. Characters can swap stories about it, "Oh, where were you during The Musical? I was on a landing party survey on a pre-warp planet incognito. Boy, there was a lot of PD paperwork about that one."
