STXI - Klingon Cruiser

Hey Mad, you still working on this? I had some thoughts about the vertebrae...one thing I played with was Nu BSG "ribs" along the neck, and all over the place...(I never could get it to work) another was reminiscent of the 2001 Discovery, having those "vertebrae" sections continue along the long klingon neck...perhaps something in the middle to break up the look, like Discovery's antenna module. (a weapon pod/turret?) Anyway, wonderful work, love the textures.
Thanks. :) Not sure what those "vertebrae" are for... but they do look neat.

I actually finished it up tonight. Here's some finished renders...
I know a more articulate response would be classier, but the most honest one is simply:
:drool::drool::drool::drool:

I'll have to render up a good one with this guy fighting the Enterprise. I was thinking about a homage to the final fight scene in Star Trek VI... anyone else have a different idea that might look neat?
I know it's based on NuTrek's version of the 23rd Century D-7, but I still think it works well in the Prime universe as one of the 24th-century variants of the basic D-7 hullform (i.e., post-K't'inga). :klingon:

Thanks, everybody. :)

I'll get some orthos rendered tonight, so I can get it up on my website.

I'm going to work out a "real" soon... I'm not really happy with the damage, or the energy weapons that the Klingons are firing.

Thanks. :)

I'll be a little slow with those orthos... I decided to go ahead and install 64bit Win7 on my laptop, and desktop, at the same time. All I have to use at the moment is my Hackintosh...

I had the Release candidate on both machines, and don't want to get caught up in the whole shutdown thing. :)

I'm so tempted to ask MadMan for a fanboyish battlecruiser design based on the Klingon Warbird.

1) Additional module below the bridge, bigger bulb generally: http://www.sfbnexus.com/Klingon/kling_C9-1.jpg
2) Add the original four disruptor placements the K'T'Inga had: http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/stmagazine/ktinga-sideforeaft.gif (picture on this page if you can't access directly)
3) Smaller disruptors on each side of the bulb: http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/pfrenczli/early-bop-cgi-side-close.jpg (picture on this page if you can't access directly)
4) Split the forward torpedo tube to make two torpedo tubes: http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.com/screenshots/File/27755/1
