of all the nights to accidentally leave my sunroof open, it rains
also my cabin fan stopped working, so my AC is useless

Sorry to hear that. Rain can be a b%*#h when that happens.
I haven't checked my car yet this morning, but I deliberately left the windows down about 1/2 inch because we desperately need the rain here in Texas.

even the headliner was soaked due to how the sunroof is situated

I left my windows and the sunroof open a crack so hopefully it dries out without smelling

I think some of the newer high end luxury cars have it.

Not just high-end cars. Even stuff like Golf GTIs have that option now IIRC.

Some Mercs have had it for a while. Not sure about Beemers, but if some VW Golfs have it, some Audis must do too.

EDIT- just fact-checked. Yep, cursory googling confirms GTIs and Merc E-class at least have it. Haven't bothered checking further.

I can't remember what I googled yesterday; I think the search string was something like rain sensing sunroof. The pages I found weren't official corporate ones, more discussion forum type pages. Sorry.

Ugh. I left the top down on my old Rabbit more times than I can remember. The one that stands out was the time I was over on the Eastern Shore, about a hour from home, and had to drive back sitting in a puddle. Blech.
