Stuff that make you wonder but not own thread worthy

Wow, the sense of scale - like form the bridge to Ten-Forward.... they also look like they're all just like in an elevator... I also hope nobody served beans in Ten-Forward before they all stood next to each other there...

The thing about that video that stays with me is that not only is that eveyrone on the ship in that small square you could spend time on the ship and walk around and really not expect to bump into anyone unless it was planned ahead of time like a meeting or such. It would feel terribly lonely with that much volume to spare, unless of course the space is filled with stuff we don't or can't see like equipment and the actual habitable space is far less than what you think.

So... serious question. What's the best New Year's Star Trek episode? 11:59, because it's all about a new year's event, or Spirit Folk, because you can time it so that Harry kisses the cow at midnight?

"Spirit Folk," no frigging contest. I recently rewatched both episodes. The episodes about Fair Haven are boring as balls, but at least they had some mildly amusing moments and costumes. "11:59" on the other hand was just excruciating to slog through.

Yeah, "11:59" is one of THE most excrutiatingly boring episodes in the franchise. On that alone, it earns a spot as among the worst of VOY and the franchise.

In universe reasons for:
  • Not seeing the type 7 shuttles anymore
  • The main shuttlebay is never used for anything but an emergency thruster
  • Should the view from the ready room windows be able to see the saucer

Starfleet maybe discontinued use of the type 7 shuttles.

You/we assume it was never used, but remember the Enterprise D was out in space for at least seven years and we only saw (very approximately) 178 days of 2,555 days. Well over two thousand days it could have been used. I think a good question would be ... was anybody manning in there when Picard quickly agreed to decompressing it, with no prior warning...

Based on the link below, it appears not only should you be able to see the saucer, but at the right perspective, you should be able to see a warp nacelle as well.

Question: in Yesterday's Enterprise why does Guinan say "No.." with a knowing look. She can't see the Enterprise C yet. What is she saying no to exactly?

...maybe type 7 shuttles were the Pinto of the 2360's?

...not so much "assume" as complain that it was never used. It is the MAIN shuttlebay afterall. Gotta figure it was one of the main hubs for staff coming and going, as well as supplies. The lack of soon-to-be-corpses floating out makes me think data beamed away any crew. He was pressing a LOT of buttons at the time to override and open the door. Then again...if the door had a nasty habit of opening and killing folks it would explain why the main bay wasnt used...bloody deathtrap.

...same problem with the conference room's view.

Maybe Guinan saw a preimage of her appearing before she crossed over from the rift. Like a temporal echo image, for lack of a better term.

Her race is time sensitive and I think they can see alterations in time itself amongst other things we don't know yet because of the stupid writers. They even made Q scared of her

I wonder what happened to Data aboard grungy beard Riker's Parallels alt-universe, Borg fleeing Enterprise. Their Worf is still in his yellow suit, fretting away at Tactical, as you'd expect, given that the one commonality of all these universes is that they have a Worf. Riker is apparently in command, likely since Picard was never reclaimed from assimilation, but we can't see Data.

I suppose he and the helmsman could be just out of frame, in front of Riker, but with him in command, you'd think Data ought to be 1st officer, at the command center. It's also possible he died, which is maybe why things are so doomed there, as he was uniquely instrumental in both rescuing/hacking Picard, and thus saving the fleet, & probably keeping my them one step ahead of doom

I guess it's even possible that in this universe, there is no Data, or Starfleet never found him at all, but I have a hard time imagining that Riker's Enterprise could outlast the whole fleet without Data. :borg:
