TBOBW...
How come we didn't see an episode of what Earth was experiencing, from their POV, when the Borg ship arrived? (Like with an episode of Space 1999 showing all the people on Earth spazzing, nobody would care. Penny looks up and sees the big cube and screams "OMGz!" Even a cutaway would have taken away the tension...)
Plus, Picard knew of the deflector dish being retooled - as Locutus admits. But the same scene discussing the dish's being augmented also discusses retuning phasers to match. No Borg should have been taken down by a single shot at all (never mind the distribution nodes wouldn't have sensors? Maybe not, yet the ships were described as having redundancy so thorough that 78% of the ship would have to be destroyed before they were to be affected, but the ship would still operate effectively), or easily would have figured out the frequency range in anticipation for when the crew beam on board and zap their phasers as was shown in "Q Who" and all the Borg picked up on was the dish being retooled to emit energy in the same EM wavelength... though the Borg should otherwise know the general range of particle weapons as such and counter the entire range at once. I'm sure there was a phaser holstered in one of the decks carved up by the Borg to analyze from "Q Who" as well...
