Stuff that make you wonder but not own thread worthy

Does anyone remember which episode had the most to do with civilians on the Enterprise? The one in the first season where the children are kidnapped? I remember practically nothing about it.

Sorry nope TNG is one of those series I can only recall the episodes I like lol.

Aside from Guinan episodes, I'd say "When the Bough Breaks" and "Lower Decks". The latter had a civilian in a prominent role.

Imagine you're a civilian doing a job on the Enterprise (like a waiter or barber), minding your own business, suddenly "RED ALERT RED ALERT" the ship shakes and you get tossed from side to side. Then the alarm stops. You have no clue what happened and your kids are scared. Later a mysterious light wanders through the corridors, engulfing a person in front of you who disappears with a blood-curdling scream. You still don't know what happened. At night you go to sleep in the cabin, and you are woken up by a bizarre being who shouts "RESISTANCE IS USELESS, YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED!" and he's about to grab your wife. The security guys come in, they shoot him, he screams and emits sparks and the security guys go off to handle another emergency. You still don't understand what's happening...

I like Schisms for a lot of reasons. Added to that list is that the group of people featured in the counseling session, that they have to compare experiences, is a civilian woman... Just like there without any explanation, because that should just be commonplace, civilian people of all types just being there for whatever reason, and also being subject to the phenomenon of the week.

I mean forgetting Guinan, isn't Keiko technically also a civilian?

So hang on if they can bring back to life frozen people who technically are dead death has no meaning.
That was always sketchy to me too. I guess we have to assume 24th century medicine is drastically better at resuscitating people whose heart had stopped, AND that just as they were close to expiring, they already had the cryogenic system prepped for the very moment of death to be right when they immediately freeze them. Plus we have to be talking about death in terms of the heart stopping.

It's weird. A broken neck or stab wound will still kill, or even a fear induced heart attack. But you can literally restore a person who's been mixed with another on a molecular level.

This is one of the reasons why civilians, and most certainly children, should not be assigned on Starfleet ships.

BUT, BUT, BUT, Transporter

All they'd have to do is run them through that with their last pattern and restart their heart. BAM!!!!!!!! cured of broken neck and death
