That's pretty cool. I think what we got was a lot more interesting than them just ending up another couple.

LOL--I agree that I like them as buddies more than going the traditional romantic couple approach.

That said, hasn't Steve done enough penance for being a jerk at the beginning of the series? Get him a girlfriend already!

He wasn't even THAT much of a jerk in S1...

    He's been a hero since S2.

..or he will spend season four trying to deal with his feelings for Robin, which cannot be turned off like a faucet, even if he knows they will never be a couple.

Looks like Hopper became a chill keyboardist in a Soviet synth wave band after his disappearance. Not a bad fate, I suppose.

That's pretty bizarre...and probably end the series all in one airing!

There was a thread about how the season was much worse. I assume it got merged into this one. In that thread I responded with reviews and links to the season's good user ratings but... I was wrong, I was so wrong. This season was complete shit, and this show can never recover now. Good thing Netflix cancels everything after season 3.

To the person who started that thread, I am sorry, so very sorry. You were right.

Just some random thoughts after a week or so since I finished S3. During the next (and final?) season they really need to expand the scope globally because the story desperately needs that. They seem to have all the pieces in the right places: Dr. Owens with the government now know that the situation is most definitely not contained, the Russians are apparently still at it with an American prisoner as a cherry on top and my guess would be that Hopper is not that prisoner: he jumped through the gate and is now trapped in the Upside Down for who knows how long. I feel like we need to find out what exactly is the nature of the Upside Down. For instance the next season might be easily be set in 1987 and I think we all remember very well what happened back then and how it could be tied to the story.

Unfortunately I think that the biggest problem with the show are the kids who are fan favorites. They keep the story tied down to a smaller scale which was fine back in S1 but now it's a huge restriction. But then again, there might be easy workarounds for that... after all there is a reason why I'm not a writer myself.

Sounds like you just want it to be a different show. This is a sort of coming of age story in a world where your childhood fantasy turned out to be real - and targeted at adults with nostalgia for being children.

Anyone have theories on why 11 lost her power? Maybe the piece in her leg was consuming something in her blood that gave her the power and yanking it out removed it all.

It’d be hard to keep Stranger Things the nostalgic Spielberg nod that makes it unique and also stop having the action chiefly driven by children acting on their own without adults.

She lost her power because they needed a more dramatic ending than having her kill everything :)

But then why did she still not have it months later? :)

Fan theory is that it's a storyline for next season.

The kids are the focus of the series, not the Upside Down, or the government experiments. Its largely through their lives that we take this voyage. This is not just a random collection of characters who can be swapped out like soap operas or the different teams from the 80s G.I. Joe cartoon. Expanding the series to other cities or countries as main storylines (instead of supporting the adventures of the kids) might as well be a spin-off, and a bad one at that.

I had just assumed she over did it, and it was going to take her a while to recharge now.

That's what she seemed to originally think, but then 3 months later she still couldn't even move a teddy bear.
