No, it won't erase you.

The anomaly is the Aenigma Nebula - it's essentially a way for lifetime subscribers or those with over a certain time as a paid member to get access to a (frankly useless) social area. Not many people use it.

Everything in the game comes with some cost, especially if it gives you any kind of benefit - food/drink replenish your hit-points, so giving it away for free wouldn't work too well, people would just grab tons of food and use it on missions constantly.

You may notice that the currency used is called energy credits.
Think of it as the amount of energy needed for the replicator to create the item, not money in the classical sense.
Later in the game you will encounter the need for dilithium which functions as a meta currency to pay for high value items, which you can also trade with other Players Thronfolger the Dilithium Exchange for Zen, which is Perfect Worlds overall currency for their items shop.

I've been flying around trying to get the hang of things, and for the most part I like the game, but I don't think I'll be spending most of my time in it.

Actually, I treat all the missions as the game's tutorial. As with all MMOs, the game doesn't really start till you start hit the end-game. For STO, that happens at level 50.

I've been flying around trying to get the hang of things, and for the most part I like the game, but I don't think I'll be spending most of my time in it.

Really? I've been treating it like an interactive Star Trek series and playing the episodes one or two per week to get my "trek fix." Also doing the PvE queues for the Rep points if there's some gadget/ability I have my eye on, but at this point I'm pretty happy with my gear. Basically, I'm playing it like a "holonovel." Serialized scifi with an interactive edge. This I considered a viable alternative to trying to suffer through Voyager episodes I never watched trying to find one that doesn't make my teeth grind; of course, then they turned Delta Rising into Voyager Season 8, which was almost as bad.

And all I want for Christmas is a T6 Constitution...

It's fun to dream.

Hey I got a notice also saying I had a Khan outfit but can't find it. Where is this Khan outfit to be found?

How do you use the group finder?


Also I encountered a mini game where you have to match a red wave on top of a blue wave how does that work? It didn't give me enough time (I felt) to finish the job or a means of telling you what to do beyond match the waves? And even though I didn't do it in time I still got the item.. WTF?

Go to a tailor. There's one at most major stations (ESD, DS9, Qo'nos, etc..). You'll find the Khan costume parts scattered among the large variety of clothing options.

How do you use the group finder?

Nobody uses them as the missions are mostly solo-able. If you're looking for friendly chatter, try joining some channels using the /join_channel command.

• TrekBBS Subspace Com - Our combined fleet channel.
• RedditChat - has many helpful players and is constantly active.
• NoP Public Service - Lots of friendly and helpful players. Useful for end-game equipment purchases.

Its part of STO's crafting system, allowing you to obtain low-grade R&D materials. The goal is to use your keyboard's arrow keys to align the red wave with the blue wave. You get about 20% more materials if you manage this little task. Imho, this mini-game is totally unnecessary as completing end-game PvE events will net you a lot more resources.

If you do it very quickly, you get 5 of the item, when slower - 4, when you fail - 3.

With practice, you should practically always match them before time runs out.

For awhile now, pteal has done an examplary job with the House of TrekBBS.
He is away for a few days and would like to have it looked after.
I myself am hardly playing at the moment and even less active on KDF.
Anyone else who regularly plays KDF side who would like to become pteal's XO?

Hey guys, just fyi, we are just a couple of days away from unlocking the next upgrade on the research base.

Just one more round of leveling projects and we are there.

The upcoming project will give us access to

Very Rare krenim Bridge officers
Tier 3 Investigative R&D Doff Assigment daily
+1 Ground Reputation Trait Slot
+1 Space Reputation Trait Slot

And of course it will itself unlock the T3 main lab upgrade.

If we complete these without much delay we could look at a maxed new holding by the end of october,

Edit: just one more project to fill. get those Fleet Marks ready.

Two questions:

1) Which duty officer do you need to craft omnidirectional phaser arrays and where do I find the little bastard?

2) It looks like the omnis do similar damage to turret weapons. I already have a really nice set of turrets (advanced fleet gear) so is it even worth it to get the omni-directionals? (you'd think it would be since they make you spend six months leveling up and then have to recruit some Harry Potter doff before you can even craft them).

Honestly I think they might have better luck just buying the omni array off the exchange so you don't have to deal with random chance giving you a crap mod.

The market on the lvl 15 items is pretty crappy right now. Definitely a better time to buy than craft.

We still have a few ships stored in the fleet bank. With the new Admirality system those are suddenly very useful.

The question is how best to distribute them.
If you are interested in getting one or two, please post how many and which ships you have in your roster.
Then i can determine how to get them out fairly.
