When you are in ground combat make sure you use all of your kit abilites. I had just been bulling through because it worked, but it was hard. Then I tried using the targeting options in my kit and suddenly I was blowing through the opposition.
Not only that, but when I start targeting, my BO's start shooting. It means that by the time I use my cone attacks the troops have already drawn aggro so everyone on the other side does not immediately target me.

I've never collected them and never needed them. Got almost all my gear from exploration badges.

I collect alien artifacts, but I dont really use them yet. I upgraded some weapons, but then I got better ones. So now I am waiting until I get to high ranks before I expend my collection to create a bunch of upgraded weapons and equipment.

I made the same mistake... waited for higher ranks and my final equippment to upgrade...
Only to realize I have to upgrade lowgrade stuff to be able to upgrade high grade stuff.
Stupid system.

Thank you so much for the auto fire tip. My thumb is getting tired of mashing the spacebar 5000 times just to keep my phasers firing.

Talk to Admiral Quinn either in his office or by clicking the Starfleet Delta icon next to the mini-map on your screen then clicking on his name and the click that mission.

It's really not that hard at all.
Just sell the loads of items you get on the missions. Either on the replicator or better yet at the exchange.

It's really not that hard at all.

You know you can buy energy credits for Star Trek Online now.

^ yeah but its most likely very dubious and against the game eula. Its pretty easy to make money by selling the amount of loot you pick up (Eg ship batteries). Obviously not that much but it helps when you are starting out.

Well it also helps big time if you sell consoles and ship weapons you either can't use, have switched for higher marked, or are not interested in keeping.

Yea havent seen a mission option for that yet. What rank do you need to be at to get it?

Around level 5-6 it becomes available.
