STO: The series.

I've been a member of the forum for a short while and already I have seen many threads regarding new ideas for TV shows.

What I haven't seen yet and it could well be that I haven't looked hard enough, but I haven't seen anyone mention the game, which as far as I am aware is considered canon, as a potential show. When I was able to play STO, I thought it was fantastic and the story really stood out. I stopped playing around the time the Iconians made there presence felt. How would people feel about a star trek show based upon the premise of the Iconians Vs Everyone Else? Or do you think it may end up too much like Babylon 5 and their Shadow/Vorlon war?

This is very true. I suppose when it comes to it I don't really want STO: The Series. But I would definitely be up for a series exploring the Iconians.

As much as I enjoy playing STO - I don't really want a series set in this time, as I like about the game as it allows you to be part of the story to some degree. The game has expanded some things that were not seen on screen such Tzenkethi.

I suppose that would depend on the shows premise. I mean Discovery sized show could work. Or maybe take a page out of B5's book and slowly reveal the ancient race over a series or two.

I believe a lot of things that take place within STO should be considered within the timeline. Such as the new ships and things like that. But there are a lot of stories in STO that I don't see working out. I loved STO but story wise it seemed like a lot was just designed or written for the game.

The whole STO and how it applies to the Prime Timeline or Cannon seemes to be heavily debated. I'm still a little confused myself as to how others view it altogether.
