Still No DSC Casting Announcement for New Captain?

Does anyone else find this odd? They're hip-deep in production now, and there hasn't been a peep on this. I'd have to assume it means one of two things:

1. The season will purposefully not get around to having a replacement captain, and the Discovery will be swept into an adventure without a true Captain in the center seat.

2. They are keeping it a secret with the intent of springing a big secret on us.

I'm sticking with my suspicion that Saru will be promoted and become the permanent commander of Discovery, and that all this talk about a "new captain" is an intentional fake-out.

Please not Burnham or Saru. That would be too obvious. I am guessing no captain at all this season.
What’s also interesting is no news of adult Spock casting has also been leaked. So either CBS is very good at security (not likely) or they will give him “Norm’s wife Vera from Cheers” threatment.

While I'd love to see ReguLorca on the show, and have no doubt that there are contingency plans to feature him in a subsequent story arc (if Jason Isaacs is up for it)...in-universe, I'm not seeing the Discovery crew putting up with him becoming the new captain.

I mean, of course ReguLorca is in no way responsible for the actions of his mirror counterpart, but there could still be some lingering resentment among the crew.

I agree. It would be the height of inappropriate inanity to have Starfleet put PrimeLorca in Discovery's center seat. Even if he was alive and well, they'd surely give him a different command.

It would be almost as dumb as putting the Emperor of the Terran Empire there, for Gods sake! And nobody would do something that dumb.
