STC Episode 6 (news and speculation)....

This was pointless. How about showing the prop master (s) working on their phasers or other knickknacks. How about adding more footage of their engineering set-building, or partially their supposedly-secret new set and its builders? How about their rookie orchestra and conductor on a workday? A tableread with the actors? Not that I expect it, but a rehearsal for a stuntfight or two? Some scenes with Ralph Miller in post, or early greyscale 3D shots as they progress all the way to final texturing? bloopers?
This was less about ''behind-the-scenes on STC'', and more like ''STC cast and crew gushing about the meaning of Trek in their lives''...
Oh sorry, there was about 5 seconds showing some of the actors getting touch-ups on their make-up...my bad...

(come on STC, are you even trying?)

What could be interesting, after STC has finished their run, is a complete and detailed "making of" video made available.

Or something, with video, involved as part of their website akin to a "making of" book where one learns not only the nuts-and-bolts of STC's development and production, but also the anecdotal stories from those involved comprised not only of production related events but practical jokes and human interest things as well.

I like the idea of a book, but then that might veer too near the kind of problems AP got into. Then again if someone fom outside undertook such a project and took no money from STC or from crowdfunding then maybe it could be done?

I don't know. I'm just musing aloud about whether it would be at all possible to have this sort of thing done. Certainly doing something on their website would mean there is definitely no profit angle. As for a book then that gets murky.

There were a lot of photos and videos posted during the construction of the Engine Room. Check out the STC Vimeo collection at: https://vimeo.com/startrekcontinues/collections for a lot of behind the scenes and construction videos. Also, the project designer (Will Smith) has his own website at: http://tosgraphics.yuku.com/topic/456?page=1#.VzCcE8L2aHu where he extensively detailed the construction and numerous other things associated with building things for STC. If they had photos of the (secret) set b4 the episode was out it would not be secret would it? I too would like to see more about the making of STC but you are asking "volunteers" to take time out of doing the work to make stuff about doing the work.

yes thank you, I'm well aware of those videos.

Oh I don't know, showing SOMETHING from it might actually help build anticipation for their release...just like the real movie studios do? It doesn't have to be the whole set, it could be something as non-spoilerish as props from them, ot even an alien potted plant...

funny, Starship Exeter was also a ''volunteer'' production, but when they posted a Behind-the-scene documentary of their first production, it was actually informative about actors, their filming process, FX shortcuts and the like...on their dime as well.
Star Trek Ambush, Horyzon and Pacific 101 also have provided BTS videos with actual substance in them.
Frankly, I'd rather they NOT publish such a half-assed attempt at a video, it's actually discouraging me from participating in their fundraising...whereas the videos produced by the above-mentioned filmmakers DO encourage me.

How to do behind-the-scènes videos...

That is all very nice, but not knowing exactly what the situation is behind the scenes prevents me from commenting on what they should or shouldn't be doing regarding behind-the-scenes videos.

The final product--the episodes themselves--are what interest me most. Anything else is extra gravy.

This was pointless. . . .

As was mentioned before; this was done independently of STC, which was not responsible for the editorial choices that were made. I can say that there were extensive interviews with many people involved in the production not only for these recent episodes but for all of the previous ones as well. I myself have been interviewed a half of dozen times but never make the final cut . . . I must be boring!!!!! lol

As far as the new set goes; yes, one look at it would be a major spoiler which is why you have seen nothing of it. There will be a short on the scoring of the up-coming episode in addition to other BTS shorts so keep an eye out for those in the future

I truly do not understand this way of thinking. True, movie trailers that overly reveal many of a film's plot points have gone into hyperdrive over the last few years, I can understand that. But as has been amply proven by last year's The Force Awakens trailers, assembling a string of ''beauty shots'' without major story implications has done nothing but stoke anticipation to a fever pitch for that specific movie release. If only the announcement of a Star Wars movie would come out, yes the hardcore and casual fans would have been there opening week.
But assembling various shots of the Millenium Falcon, Han solo and Chewie, the medieval lightsaber and Kilo Ren, BB8, etc., THAT got a whole lot of disillusioned former fans to get back on side and show up opening week.
