you mean the poll where 27 people voted the latest episode as excellent and 36 voted good to poor? I actually voted it as fair, and I'm pretty sure Warped voted as good if I judge him correctly...I'm sure you don't even bother reading what I actually say, but I repeat again that despite that I find their scripts weak, technically I find their efforts laudable... thanks for the constant entertainment...
Like it, hate it, people are watching and talking about it. We're seven pages in on this thread now and the next episode's still a few weeks away.
Picking and choosing your statistics, now, are we? THREE voted "poor." Look, I get it. "Methinks you doth protest too much". Now that I realize you and some of these other ST:C detractors are in the industry yourselves, your dislike of ST:C's popularity and success makes a lot more sense to me.
You can be a critic of something, and find flaws with something, while still being a HUGE fan of it. It usually goes hand in hand, as in, holding something beloved and good, to an even *greater* standard. Because it is sooo close....
Jesus, you are deluded... By the way, Maurice has ALREADY worked on, and was a crucial part of the Star Trek fan film The Tressaurian Intersection that each and every STC episode (except perhaps Lolani, maybe) wishes they were as good as...
Vic has been able to produce consistent-quality Trek Fan films, eleven to be exact, in a relatively short period of time, under the umbrella of a 501(c)3 non-profit, while maintaining a good relationship with CBS. No one to my knowledge has ever done that before (big thanks to STNV's efforts). And because of Lord Axahat's shenanigans, it will probably never happen again. The nit-picking posts by industry "professionals" read like they're written by some green-eyed monster.
I think that's just a tad bit harsh, Bixby, as much as I love The Tressaurian Intersection, and do agree it's a fantastic slice of Star Trek.
I've said it before: TTI was shot around the time of NV's "In Harm's Way", if you want to see the state of the art of fanfilms at that time.
I understand that, I just felt the way you phrased it in your post seemed to raise up TTI at STC's expense.
STC has cast another well known actor and Trek Alum in Episode 9. From STC's Facebook page: Announcing another guest star from Episode 9, "What Ships Are For." Mark Rolston is no stranger to scifi. He has an impressive list of credits including "Aliens", "RoboCop 2", "The X Files", "Angel", "Supernatural", "Babylon 5", "Lethal Weapon 2" and "The Shawshank Redemption"... as well as a few other TV series you may be familiar with. Please welcome Mark to the STC family!
Mark Rolston plays evil well - Bogs Diamond in Shawshank is the devil incarnate. Looking forward to this episode and particularly the guest stars.
Whatever else I could say about STC's new episode next month, at first look this one seems totally "out of the box". Q, Sheba and Drake from aliens sounds interesting...
It's probably not happening, but I'd like to see a scene or two at Vasquez rocks before the series ends.
